Power Update —

At 9:45 we received a text saying the power was restored… but when we checked the store, the power clearly did not get that memo.

We just received another update and are heading back over now. I’ll be at the store working on things, though we may still be operating in “very cozy, no-electricity mode.”

Stay tuned for the official update, and we hope everyone is staying warm and has their power back on!

Update: Opening at 4:00 today. In a bold financial strategy, I ran out of gas despite having plenty of money in my pocket — proving once again that planning is more important than liquidity. Fuel has now been acquired, dignity is recovering, and I’ll see you at 4:00.

Opening at 2:00 today due to an appointment. We’ll be here until 8:00.

Opening from 2:00 to 6:00 today. We appreciate your understanding, flexibility, and continued support. Full disclosure: while we’ve got some fresh looks going on, the store is a smidge messy… okay, maybe a smidge and a half.

We’re open today from 11:30–5:30!

We want to apologize for the recent back-and-forth with our opening hours, as well as the inconsistencies with our schedules and actual hours of operation. We’ve been navigating some operational setbacks and are focused on structural transitions, and in order to ensure we are providing the best experience possible, we have decided to limit our hours for the time being:

Friday & Saturday: 11–6
Sunday: 10–5

Keep an eye out for weekly updates, as we may add additional weekday hours as they become available.

I want to directly address information that we may be potentially going out of business. This is not true. I am fully committed to keeping my hometown alive and thriving. Mercantile 22 will continue to serve my hometown. It is absolutely my intention to keep our doors open and continue serving the community that has supported us since day one.

I’m not interested in participating in discussions about anyone within my company. It’s unprofessional and unbecoming, and I will not engage in it. My focus is on moving forward and stabilizing the business.
