Are you wondering why hiring a designer helps you with your project? Well, Instagram and Pinterest I wonder that myself … but time and time again I have heard from my clients that my service is invaluable to them.

It’s all of these details and things that the Contractor does not bring up to you before demo day that a designer goes through with you before hand.

For sure, if you fly solo the contractor will bring it up to you in the middle of the project and then you will go🤔??? I don’t know.”

And you will feel stressed and have sleepless nights, wondering if you made the right decision because the Contractor is asking you with no opinion whatsoever just whatever you want he’ll do and you’re not sure if you’ve made the right decision.

Having a plan having all your finishes coordinated and risking forgetting about the Shower Door hinge is not matching your fixtures if you get different type of standard fixture finish.
And you fall into decision paralysis.

If design school taught me nothing I did take away This one thing: layer your Lighting! In every room, not just when remodeling and you can set the mood in the ambience and you can enhance all of the beautiful finishes that you spent a lot of money on. And then in the end, you will be more happy.

There are lots of different size tiles. There are lots of different ways You can lay them out on your wall.

and this is where a designer is really important because they can share with you how to layout your tiles based on your taste based on your space, architectural elements, and we have seen them installed so we can know what is best for your space and for you and what looks the best.

This I think is the most nitty-gritty part of the design and it kind of throws the clients when if you don’t have a designer, your Contractor will ask you and you just worry about if it’s gonna look good because once it’s up, you can’t take it back down unless you wanna pay double the work.
There’s so many other mistakes and hiccups that can go wrong without me, a professional designer (BA ID) guiding you through the process.

I lived so many years of life in self doubt and fear, and struggled because of it.

An interior design school they had us do multiple classes on Lighting. They took us to the Lauren store and gave us a visual example of how layers of Light really do matter.
It is also important to go bold with your lighting fixtures, not over the top but bigger than you would think. Size and scale chandeliers have been in bedrooms for quite some time now but back in the day. They were also recommended in design school to do the LED strips, the recessed and the chandelier and all the spaces that you could do not just the living room or dining room.

So don’t be afraid to pick a chandelier for a bedroom or an office that you think should only belong in a dining room. It can do wonders as far as elevating the space and style and bringing in your own personal taste and touch.

You don’t have to match the existing footprint of what’s already there if anything for the drywall bigger is better going smaller means more drywall repairs.
