Yes, that’s my basement foundation wall. Or should I say, the floor above sitting on a wall of dirt.
To whoever did this…Why, just why? If you decide to dig out your crawl space and create a basement space, do it the right way. Don’t take shortcuts. Now we’re having to pay for it.
We learned what was behind our basement walls in the midst of a plumbing situation from the floor above. Our foundation wall, at least just on this side of the basement, has foundation walls sitting on dirt instead of an 8” concrete wall all the way to the ground level.
Here’s your friendly reminder to do things right the first time and don’t take shortcuts. Or future homeowners will have the unfortunate opportunity to fix it. 😭
