This weekend is the Butler Antique Show, actually in Lyndora at the Tanglewood. March15-17. It begins at 6:30 on Friday. I'll be there with some wonderful stuff...lots of antique Persian carpets, some local stoneware, antique books, some folk art and early furniture. Hope to see you there.

Earlier this year, my wife, Chris, president of the Fayette County Historical Society and principle docent at The Searights Tollhouse, was conducting a tour when the guest asked if he could videotape her presentation. She graciously agreed and gave the tour which can be watched in this great "first take". The Tollhouse is a national treasure and attracts guests from a worldwide audience. Enjoy the video but also plan a visit. The Tollhouse is open from April till the first of December, Saturday and Sunday, though tours are available by special request.

Announcement: I'll be exhibiting at the Ligonier Diamond Days show this coming Saturday, beginning at 8:00 AM. I'll be bringing 15 Persian carpets, some early glass, three pieces of SW PA stoneware and various other early and folky stuff. The week later, June 12, I'll be setting up at the Burton Antique Show in Burton, Ohio at the Geauga County Fairgrounds. I'll have a large tent with a large, diverse selection of antique Persian and Afghanistan rugs, along with other early, folky and generally good stuff, including some early furniture, tiger maple, paint etc. The third weekend in June, I'll be exhibiting at Jack Miller's "yard sale". That is a euphemism because it's anything but your ordinary yard sale with about 20 antique vendors bringing their best stuff. I'll be there with a bunch of rugs. Jack's sale is in North Huntington, PA, a block off of route 30, (the main drag into town). Look for the signs.

My shows are over until late August. Just got a bunch of new semi-antique Persian carpets in. Good quality and good prices. 10x13 down to 3x5. Give me a call or let me know if you want to see them. Plus, there we have an old-fashioned antique shop with real antiques, 18th and 19th C furniture, folk art, paintings and other wall art, some stoneware, early glass and more. We're open if we're home. (And we're almost always home.)

Our historical society will open our museum this Saturday for Pike Days at 11:00-4:00. We have been closed for more than a year. There will also be a mini-flea market and I will be participating with rugs, folk art, some stoneware and more. 7083 National Pike, halfway between Brownsville and Uniontown on #40 (National Pike).
