Update...A part of the former Northeast Candle Co. production area has found a new home!
Students and staff at Dutch Ridge Elementary in The Beaver Area School District though the hard work of their teachers have created a Farm Lab where students grades 4-6 grow and cultivate their own plants and flowers by implementing their knowledge through the guidance of their amazing teachers.
The benches once used to produce thousands of candles, lotions and soaps are now being used to help educate students by hands on experiences in earth science and marketing and sales through The Market Place program and so much more!
Stay posted as we begin as we begin our next new, unwritten chapter of The NEC Co.

Remodel view of our store. This lumber last saw daylight in 1950. We can’t wait to show you the final product! Our retail store is in the back entrance for the time being. Hours are 10am to 5pm. Thank you for your understanding and patience! Our employees have been amazing at adapting to the temporary change!

Classic Fried Fish

This fish batter recipe makes the lightest, crispiest batter imaginable! Dating back to early 1950s, this is an original Friday night fish fry recipe. It makes enough to coat approximately 2 pounds of fish.

Update on Retail Sales:

We currently have a limited assortment of products available at Shop at the Underpass at 231 Fifth Street, Ellwood City. Open Thurs - Fri 10am - 4pm & Sat 10am - 3pm.

Spinach & Artichoke-Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms

Stuffed mushrooms and spinach-artichoke dip come together in this quick recipe. Serve these cheesy stuffed mushrooms with a big salad for a satisfying and healthy dinner.

This recipe can also be used as an artichoke recipe by eliminating the mushroom baking the filling as directed and serving in a bread bowl with fresh bread.

We are please to tell you that not only will our new retail location will be opening soon as we continue our cleanout of the old space and move to the new.

We are also happy to tell you that our online store will be opening this May! The new template is made, by using a new provider we have be able to create a site that is easy to shop, easy to order. We will also offer free shipping on orders over $50!

The site will also have a simple fundraising inquiry form and many other new features as we add to it throughout the year.

We're looking forward to a great 2023 with you and can't wait to see you again soon!

Moving and Reopening News

We Are Making Progress!
As of today we are on target for the final removal of our original retail space and production building. Which means we will soon begin to set up in our new space at 233 Fifth Street, Ellwood City.

While its difficult to see our former space become more empty every day as shelves and fixtures are removed from our soon-to-be former space, we are excited about the opportunities for not only us, but for you our loyal customers.

You will now have access to shop more home goods while visiting us. An already knowledgeable staff at Shop at the Underpass is learning about our products to ensure you have a knowledgeable sales person to answer your questions and guide you in your selections. You will also be able to shop our products starting at 10 am Thursday - Saturday!

Two new spring fragrances (details coming soon) will be available when we re-open. We are brainstorming new promotional events for the year as well.

Thank you all once again. We couldn't ask for more loyal and supportive customers and a business community who has stepped in and supported us through this sudden unexpected change.
