Fresh off the bench. Reproduction of a Birka style Viking era belt pouch. Sinew stitched, wet formed veg-tanned leather, dyed to a mahogany color and mildly distressed for a well worn look.

As some of you may know I never really work with brass. The reason is as I have never been able to successfully make a brass piece other than rivets. I struggle to get the heat right to aneal it properly and apparently I've never really annealed it enough times because you have to do it often while hammering it, as it work hardens. So not being one to give up I put it on the back burner until such time as I could actually figure out what I was doing wrong. I've been talking to several people that work with brass regularly from jewelers to Smith's and watching tons of videos and reading tons of articles on how to work with this material. So after a couple of years of failing horribly at working with brass I present to you the fruits of my efforts, my 1st fully forged 100% brass piece.
