I don't often have the opportunity to work with a client that supplies their own wood, so this was a unique project from the start. Thanks to for trusting me to bring this idea to life and for giving me the creative freedom to take it to the next level. Stoked with how this turned out!

I feel so privileged to have built this modular gaming/dining table for some awesome new clients who host weekly gatherings to play Dungeons and Dragons as well as other table games. When the couple reached out to me about this project, the wife mentioned she has accessibility issues caused by Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and asked if we could design the table in a way that best accommodates her needs. EDS is a genetic connective-tissue disorder that can cause chronic muscle and bone pain, easy bruising, and wound healing difficulties.

I was happy to oblige and excited for the challenge. I met them at their home to get a better understanding of the space, their vision for the table, and her specific accessibility needs. The Mahogany topper panels were chosen for the species’ dimensional stability, which allowed me to minimize the thickness in order to reduce their overall weight. We tried a few different angles for the chamfer around the top frame to dial in on what was most comfortable for her forearms to rest on. We also decided to bevel the four corners and soften the edges to reduce the risk of scrapes and bruises.

Working with these clients was an absolute pleasure. Crafting them something that is beautiful, functional, and adapted to suit their accessibility needs was such a rewarding experience. I know they will make memories with friends and family around this table for decades to come!

The "Onyx Sunset" Black Walnut and Epoxy Wall Clock.

This beautiful 12 inch wall clock is powered by a continuous, silent motor mini-quartz movement. The face is constructed from highly figured Black Walnut and black Onyx epoxy. It contains epoxy-inlayed notches at the three, six, nine, and twelve o’clock positions and is finished with Rubio Monocoat hardwax oil. This stunning one-of-a-kind piece is a sure-fire conversation starter in any room.
