Fig & Fire was started to create safer self-care options that don’t contain harmful ingredients. We appreciate you inviting us into your home, and we want to give you the very best. That's why we spent two years in research and development before launching. Founder and owner, Karen Larochelle, was shocked to discover how many toxins were in so many candles on the market and just how unregulated the fragrance industry was. She immediately threw out all the candles in her house and started on a mission to create candles she didn't have to think twice about breathing. The desire to create a better candle fueled two years of research and development to ensure an even burn, optimal fragrance release, and negligible amounts of non-toxic soot after burning. Fig & Fire started with candles and has grown from there! The product line currently includes soy candles and wax melts, sugar scrubs, shower steamers, bath bombs, multi-purpose room sprays, and candle accessories. Each self-care item is handcrafted with the consumer's health in mind and features non-toxic, cruelty-free, vegan, and natural ingredients they can feel good about breathing in or putting on their skin. Our promise: no nasty fragrances. "Fragrances" can include 3,000+ harmful chemicals. Fig & Fire specializes in non-toxic self-care. This means you can breathe easy knowing you don't need to worry about being exposed to any of the following:

Fig & Fire is coming to Downtown Frederick!

I’m so excited to finally share that Fig & Fire was selected as one of three businesses for the Three’s Co. yearlong Incubator Program, and we’ll officially have a home inside Threes Co. alongside apropertable and Adam Baisa.

Since starting Fig & Fire in 2019, so much of this business has happened behind the scenes, from researching and formulating products to pouring candles, packing orders, and meeting so many of you at markets and events. Having a space where you can regularly come in, smell your favorite scents, explore our products, and shop Fig & Fire in person feels like such a special next step.

A huge thank you to Downtown Frederick Partnership and SOUL Street for selecting Fig & Fire to be a part of this program!

I’m incredibly grateful for this opportunity and for all of you who have supported Fig & Fire along the way. Every order, market visit, recommendation, review, and kind message has helped make opportunities like this possible.

Fig & Fire was named Best Maker/Artist for the fourth year in a row by Women’s Lifestyle Magazine, and this year, we’re also incredibly honored to be named Best Retail/Product-Based Business for the second time! 🥳

Four years of being recognized by this community is something I never take for granted. Fig & Fire may have started with an idea and a handful of products, but it’s grown because of the people who continue to believe in it, support it, share it, and bring Fig & Fire into their homes and lives.
