Chandeliers have a reputation for being formal: crystal, dripping, and parked in grandmother's dining room. Ours tend to go another direction.

Picture sputnik arms reaching out from a center sphere, a clean ring of LED light, or simple candle-style bulbs on a matte frame. They carry the same focal-point presence as a classic chandelier, with lines that fit a modern home.

They also work in more places than the dining room. A chandelier over a bed, in an entry, or above a soaking tub gives a room a clear center.

Sizing questions are always welcome. Tell us your room dimensions and table size, and we'll help you land on the right scale.

Walls are the most overlooked place to hang a light, and they're often the best one.

A sconce brings light down to eye level, where it's softer and more flattering than anything shining straight down from the ceiling. It fills the gaps overhead lighting leaves behind, like a dim corner, a dark stretch of hallway, or the sides of a mirror.

Sconces do a lot of decorating, too. A pair flanking a bed, a fireplace, or a piece of art makes a wall look finished without hanging a single frame.

Our sconces come in modern shapes and finishes that suit bedrooms, baths, and living spaces alike.

Where would you add a sconce first?

Industrial lighting borrows from old factories and warehouses. Exposed bulbs, metal cages, and dark finishes give it a bit of grit.

Done well at home, it adds character without making a room feel cold. The trick is balance. Pair a black cage pendant or a caged sconce with wood, linen, or a warm rug, and the edges soften.

Industrial pieces also work hard. They're simple to clean, forgiving of daily use, and right at home in kitchens, entries, and home bars.

Our industrial-leaning fixtures keep the look honest and the price reasonable, so you can try the style in one room before committing to the whole house.

Would you go full warehouse, or just a touch of it?

Every season has a palette, and fall's is easy to spot. Wood tones, deep greens, rust, cream, and warm metals that pick up the evening light all start showing up around now.

Lighting is one of the simplest ways to bring that palette indoors without repainting anything. A gold finish reads warm next to wood and leather. Matte black gives a room a crisp outline and pairs with almost anything you pull out for the season.

Swapping one fixture in a key spot, over the dining table or by the front door, is enough to make a room feel like it changed with the calendar.

Our pendants, chandeliers, and sconces come in finishes that work with the colors you're already bringing out of storage this month.

Which finish is your fall favorite, gold or black?

There's a difference between a store that carries lighting and one that curates it.

We don't list everything we can get our hands on. Every fixture we add is held to the same short list of questions. Is the design thoughtful? Does the quality hold up? Is the price fair for what you're getting? If a piece can't clear all three, it doesn't make the cut.

That's slower than filling a catalog, and it's the point. When you shop HE, you're seeing what made it through, not everything that exists.

What matters most to you when you're buying for your home, style, price, or knowing it'll last?

As the evenings draw in, the entry is the first thing that greets anyone coming home, and the first thing guests see at the door.

A warm, well-lit entryway does something a dim one can't. It says welcome before a word is spoken. Heading into the darker months, it's one of the most worthwhile spots in the house to get right.

A statement flush mount or a pendant scaled to the space, maybe a pair of sconces or a small lamp for warmth, and the whole arrival changes, from the street and from the doorway.

Our entry and foyer fixtures are made to make that first impression, at prices that make the upgrade easy heading into fall.

What's the first thing people see when they walk into your home after dark?

A ceiling fan is one of the few fixtures that has to earn its place twice, once for how it looks and once for how it works.

Ours are built to do both. Clean, modern blades and finishes that fit the room, paired with motors that actually move air and, on many models, integrated light and a reversible motor for year-round use.

Indoor or covered outdoor, bedroom or great room, there's a size and style here for the space, and a price that keeps comfort from being a splurge.

Getting the size right matters as much as the style. Not sure what fits your room? Ask below and we'll help you land on the right span.

Modern lighting gets a reputation for being cold. Done well, it's the opposite.

The best contemporary fixtures keep the clean lines and simple shapes, then bring warmth back through finish and glow. Brushed brass instead of stark chrome. Soft, warm bulbs instead of harsh white. The result is a room that feels current and comfortable at the same time.

Our modern collection is built on exactly that balance, sculptural pieces that still feel like home, in finishes and price points that fit a real house.

Minimal doesn't have to mean cold. It just has to be done with intention.

Modern or traditional at heart? We'd love to know which way you lean.

The evenings are getting shorter, and that changes what your home needs from its lighting.

Summer light is easy. Long days, sun until late, fixtures barely working. As fall moves in, the light in your home takes over earlier and does more of the work of making a space feel warm and welcoming.

This is the season for softer, warmer fixtures and a few well-placed lamps, the pieces that turn a dark evening into a cozy one instead of a dim one.

We've gathered our warmest, most inviting lighting for exactly this stretch of the year, all ready to ship free and priced for a real home.

Getting your space ready for the cozy months? Start with the light. Everything else follows

Farmhouse style earned its place for a reason. It's warm, it's unfussy, and it makes a house feel lived-in on purpose.

The lighting is where it comes together: matte black and aged bronze finishes, exposed bulbs, lantern and cage shapes, pieces that look like they've always belonged in the room.

We've pulled our favorite farmhouse fixtures into one place, from island pendants to entry lanterns to vanity lights, all with that same relaxed, gathered feeling and all at prices that fit a real home.

Whether your whole house leans farmhouse or you just want one piece with that character, there's a fixture here for it.

Is farmhouse your style, or are you drawn somewhere else? We're curious what you gravitate toward.
