Hi friends. I’m back in Asheville after evacuating a few days after Helene hit. We’re safe, but we’re all trying to wrap our heads around when things will be “normal” again, and how we’ll get there. Asheville is making progress at bringing back the basics like power, water (we got it back in our space today! No timeline on when it will be potable) and Wi-Fi, but things just feel so incredibly altered.
We opened a temporary 1st grade classroom in one of the rooms in our space, and they expect to open schools (for a half day) at the end of the month.

This all feels quite Covid-y to the parents, in terms of the lack of precedence here and disruption and loss of our normal everyday life- but we are so grateful that at least we can gather, kids can play and we can all try to process together.

Work wise, our downtown shop is now just an order fulfillment space, and we are going hard on that front. You all have been SO patient with the extreme delays to your orders, and I’m working as fast as I can to fill them solo, since my helpers have left town until for a while.
Thank you all so much for your words of support and understanding to this disruption to our little business. I’m so grateful to all of you❤️

Also! We are officially back in business after the monsoon and printing has resumed for the first time since late June😬 We’ve got a mountain of pre-orders orders and the team in India is hustling- if you’re waiting on something, thank you so much for your patience! 💕

Currently sampling…. I always wear my prototypes out in the world to see how they do, and this cotton slub pant is a win so far. I’m making them just a bit longer, but elastic waist, flowy, really comfy👍😍

So after nearly five years of having nothing to do with order fulfillment, I’ve moved operations to Asheville and am doing ALL of it until I find someone to help🫠
It’s definitely a change, but also good to get my hands on the products more and reevaluate my processes.

A sweet bonus is that Ash comes to hang out after camp or school, and it’s a major throwback to my childhood spending hours with my parents at their offices/shops❤️
