Have you ever prayed for patience, strength or fill in the blank only to be “tested?”

I do not know if it is actually a test but I have experienced times when what I desire the most asks me if I am positive.

I have been talking a lot about capacity in many places recently. As responsibilities increase, influence becomes an impactful commodity, and what was effective in one season will not suffice in the next, capacity to be a role model becomes a necessary skill to train for.

As I sat in a rainy hotel room a while back, on paper it all made sense! Fuel and move your body, nurture your spirit and take time to clear your mind. Breathe.

Blissful, right?

Then life.

I found my shoulders creeping up beside my ears as the day presented one challenge after another today. Some layers were amazing and my own choosing, some were frustrating and my own mistakes (missing an exit on the freeway!) and some were just the things we are all faced with and must be whole and well to expand and impact!

As my tension grew, I heard my voice become short and I thought “I recognize this…have I eaten, have I taken a break, have I moved my body or completed a breath healing session?”

Reset.

How can you continue to grow and be aware of the impact you are leaving everywhere you go?

Progress > Perfection 🙌

There is a quiet moment that comes right after you reach a goal.

The celebration fades, the dust settles, and a question shows up: now what?

Some people hear that question and feel pressure. Others hear an invitation. ✨

Wanting more is not ingratitude. You can be proud of how far you have come and still be curious about how far you can go. Both can be true at the same time. In fact, the people who grow the most are usually the ones who have learned to hold both. 🙏

Raising the bar does not have to mean doing everything at once. Most of the time, it looks a lot smaller than we expect. One more rep. One honest conversation. One evening protected for sleep. One decision made from your values instead of your habits. Small standards, raised consistently, become the life you actually want.

And the best part is that every new standard makes the next one easier to reach. Capacity is built, not born. 💪

So this week, do not aim for perfect. Aim for a little higher than last week.

Swipe through for a few places to start, then tell me in the comments: what is one bar you are ready to raise right now?

Save this for the next time you hit a goal and catch yourself wondering what is next.

Mediterranean, keto, paleo, fasting, plant-based.
Everyone has an opinion on how we should eat, what we should eat, when and sometimes even how!

There is real wisdom in many of opinions, research backed or evidence based.

I love that food is information. Every meal tells the body how to perform, recover and grow. It is also what our muscles, our energy and our resilience are built from. 💪

Food shapes the mind. Steady fuel supports focus, clear thinking and a calmer mood. The quality of our decisions often follows the quality of what we eat. 🙌

Food nourishes the spirit. When we choose with intention, we practice self-respect. Every thoughtful choice is a small promise kept to ourselves, and those promises build confidence that carries into everything else. 🙏

How we fuel ourselves shapes how we think, how we lead and how we show up for the people who count on us. Energy is a leadership tool, and it starts in the kitchen.

Scroll to the left (and then to the right…oh wait that’s a post about movement!) for a short version of five popular diets: what each one is, why people love it and what to be aware of. There is no single right answer, only the right fit for your goals in a particular season. The real secret is on the last slide, and it applies to far more than food… 💃 🕺

Every chance I get, I continue to study how nutrition helps optimize the mind, body and spirit. I recently earned my NASM Certified Nutrition Coach certification. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences in how it has changed how I see every plate. 🥘

Which one have you tried? Tell me below. I would love to hear what has worked for you!

I’m cheering for you! 📣

One hour on Sunday. Five lunches ready before Monday asks anything of you. 🥗

Leading well all week starts with how you fuel your body! When lunch is already made, you are not grabbing whatever is closest or hitting the drive through. You are choosing on purpose. 🙌

Here is a simple Sunday prep:
✔️ Roast chicken thighs and a sheet pan of sweet potato, broccoli and red onion
✔️ Cook a pot of quinoa and hard-boil a few eggs
✔️ Whisk a lemon-tahini dressing

Then mix and match all week: a quinoa bowl, a Greek bowl, a big salad, sweet potato hash and lettuce-wrap tacos. Gluten-free, high protein and actually delicious.

Swipe for the full plan and the shopping list. Save this post for Sunday, and send it to a friend who might need some inspiration. 🧑‍🍳

What is your go-to prep-day lunch? 👇

I have talked about mind, body and spirit for the past couple of years and these are still the most essential part of the foundation of my health.

This year, I added a fourth piece: breath.

Hang with me…

I will admit, I was a little skeptical at first. It felt a bit woo-woo. But it has quietly become one of my favorite tools. It is how I find peace, ground myself and come back to center, whether I am heading into a big meeting, lacing up for a run or winding down at night. I use it for energy and in my prayer life.

There are tons of different types of breath work, from quick sessions to decrease your heart rate to breath healing which regulates your nervous system and oxygenates your blood.

I am so excited to be facilitating a four-part Embody Breath Healing series this October. Each Sunday evening, we will gather on Zoom to breathe, journal and lean into this new season together:

Week 1 · Pause with Purpose
Week 2 · Create Space
Week 3 · Strengthen Your Foundation
Week 4 · Move Forward with Intention

Join one Sunday or all four. All proceeds go to charity.

If you are curious, comment BREATHE and I will send you the details. Either way, take a slow, deep breath for yourself today. 🤍

I’m cheering for you! 📣

Q4 is here, and it is my second favorite lap of the year. 🏁

I created this Q4 checklist to get you started reflecting on your year and planning your Q4, considering mind, body and spirit, so you close out this year strong and step into the next one ready. 💪

And this year, I have added one more: breath.

You have heard me talk a few times about Breath Healing since summer. Not everyone loves to run, and I get it. I have discovered Breath Healing is a new way to release stress, seek clarity and reset…and it does not require running shoes.❤️

Intentional Breath Healing can:

✔️ Sharpen your focus
✔️ Lift your energy in the middle of a full day
✔️ Steady you before a big meeting, presentation or decision
✔️ Help you unwind and sleep deeply

You’re invited to join me as I lead:

Rise Where You Are:
4 Sunday evenings of guided breath work on Zoom.
October 4 to 25, 7:15 to 8:15 pm Central.

Come for one Sunday or all four. No experience needed. Just a quiet space and a willingness to try something new. 🧘

100% of proceeds go to charity.

Comment BREATHE and I will send you the details.

Expanding your capacity to retain knowledge! 🧠

I love listening to books on audio but recently I have been stretching my capacity to read books again. I was digging through boxes of some older books that didn’t make the bookshelf and these are a few of my favorites. 📕

It’s interesting how you read a book in one season and it serves in a vastly different capacity than the next. Sometimes you no longer align with the narrative but still respect the author and the memory of what you read.

This does not apply to these books, as The Power of One More by Ed Mylett has pushed me to add miles, weights, hours to a workday, and even loads of laundry! I highly recommend it!

Optimize your mind, body and spirit one day at a time, one habit at a time. Check✔️

I absolutely hate hearing these words.

I want to go, do, run, and build. I find it incredibly difficult to sit still.

Yet, when I take the time, force myself to sit in the silence, it seems I can hear God the loudest.

I have been knee deep in working in the silence lately. When I go quiet on social media, I am usually creating or building and it’s anticlimactic to post that exact same food day after day… 🤣

Ebbs and flows, I am deeply grateful to do this work, to get to inspire, educate and serve each day, and I am deeply grateful for you!

Take a teeny audit, have you take a pause recently? A silent moment to center? To ground? To just be?

Always remember, you have to put your oxygen mask on to serve mothers.

This dish was stunning. As a self proclaimed foodie, nothing makes my heart skip a beat like a perfectly plated dish with a seemingly healthy choice.

First bite.

Incredible.

Second bite, dipped it in the white cream sauce on the side and then realized I was adding extra calories and unnecessary fat without even thinking!

Habits can be easy to create and extra hard to break.

Adding sugar to your coffee, after a season of black, grabbing a handful of candy in the company kitchen each time you pass by, or a late night snack while catching up on your favorite shows.

Seems harmless but depending on the contents, it can affect your clarity, affect blood sugar level and of course increase your waistline.

Never in judgment, just observation to be aware of what you’re consuming and how it affects your goals.

There are many types of apps to track your input so your output is everything you want it to be!

I’m cheering for you. 📣

Walk in step with your Creator.
On purpose. ❤️

Sometimes we push so hard, run so fast and try to get to the finish line as fast as we can, we skip the journey or miss what was meant for us to experience along the way.

It’s ok to go a little bit slower, listen for answers in unknown places, and take notes.

Graduations parties.
Building a new house.
Starting a new relationship.

Don’t rush.

Yes, we get one life to live.

Yes the sands of time of falling in the hourglass.

Yes, I am the queen of do it all, do it fast, but do it WELL is also deeply ingrained in my core values.

This is why I have added breath healing practices to my wellness routine in my life. It felt woo-woo to me, too. It still does sometimes. I won’t lie, I still combine some planks, prayers, and maybe text check mid-ritual…especially if I do the extended version.

But when I show up fully, allow myself to do the practice, without judging myself, I walk away feeling refreshed, clear and ready to lead.

To learn more about the Embody Breath Healing Experience, drop “just breathe” in the comments.

I’m cheering for you. 📣

🌱 Clear your energy - eliminate one outfit from your closet this weekend that you’ve been going to wear for the past year.

🌱 Just say no. I know it’s something we learned in third grade but if it isn’t a “hell yes…” it’s a no.

🌱 Be you. Authentically you. The world deserves who you were created to be.

Live life.
On purpose. ❤️
