Sad news. I got tired of regulations. I got over the tariffs, the almost tenfold increase in shipping prices, the next new EU regulations, the ocean of fake AI listings on Etsy, but the new European packaging regulations with the upfront fees, required representatives etc. just went over the limit.
Melkada, as many other small real handmade businesses, will be closing. Our Etsy store may remain open for tutorials only, but I am not even sure about that. I am an artist, not a lawyer, accountant and so on, all in one. I cannot keep working just so that I can give my salary away to those who did nothing to earn it. I am no longer sad, I will keep on creating for the joy of it, and for those who want to find me and ask me to make something special for them.
A heartfelt thank you to all my customers who made the past 8 years special! For the thousands who wrote to me and thanked me. You have made me appreciated and very happy! I cannot thank you enough!
