He began selling flowers off his cart until he opened a shop at 1418 Chestnut Street across from the Wanamaker's Department Store in 1908. Later his two son's Lee and Dean (my fath

er) joined him and opened stores in Upper Darby and Drexel Hill with greenhouses in Wynnewood. I joined my father in 1976 and we moved the Upper Darby Store to our current location where I bought the buildings adjacent to our store for warehousing. My daughter joined the business in 2020 to be the 4th generation owner of Polites Florist. Today the shop is still going strong fulfilling the floral needs of our customers in the Delaware Valley Area.
