Apprentice was in the shop today learning something new: how to do san mai. We managed to get it welded up, forged out, cleaned up, and heat treated. He did damn good.

We'll get it all finished the next time he's in the shop.

It was a really good day.

I'm out in Casper, WY, this week for the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo. I didn't have to be at the booth until 3 today, so my buddy hooked me up with a fishing trip on the North Platte.

Caught my first ever trout, and I finally got to use one of my fillet knives for something other than cutting roasts and steak.
