In this bathroom, the star of the show was that incredible custom blue bathtub (and matching sinks!). Our job was to help create a rug that looked like it belonged there.

This rug is filled with gorgeous shades of blue that the camera just can't capture. In person, it is a perfect match!

Bonus: This project was in Texas with one of our favorite Florida designers. We may be in Vero Beach, but our rugs travel well.

Our Owen Custom Rugs showrooms will be closed on Monday, September 7th, in observance of the holiday. We will reopen with regular business hours at both locations on Tuesday, September 8th.

Our hearts are with Nepal. 🇳🇵❤️

So many of the rugs that pass through our doors begin their story thousands of miles away in Nepal, in the hands of incredibly talented weavers and artisans.

These aren’t simply places where our rugs are made. They are communities filled with people whose skill, tradition and craftsmanship are woven into pieces that eventually find homes here with our customers.

Seeing the devastation caused by the recent flooding in Nepal is heartbreaking. We are thinking of the weavers, their families, and all of the communities affected—those who have lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods.

Today, we’re sending our love to Nepal and to the people behind the incredible work we are so fortunate to share every day. ❤️

We’re all in this together. 🧡

One of the things we love most about this industry is the people in it. There’s plenty of room to support each other, learn from each other, cheer each other on—and make some pretty great friends along the way.

A couple months ago, we had the chance to visit our friends at The Flooring Warehouse in Longboat Key, tour their showroom, talk shop, and see what they’re doing in their corner of the flooring world. We had the pleasure of chatting with Peter and he even sent me home with this fun hat, which obviously has made its way into the regular rotation. 😬

We’ll always believe in supporting our friends in the field. At the end of the day, we may have different showrooms, different markets and different customers, but we’re all working toward the same thing: doing great work and keeping this industry moving forward.

And yes… I coordinated the shirt with the hat. Commitment to the bit. 🧡😂

Jonathan's knees have seen some things!

Those well-worn knee pads have spent countless hours helping finish custom rugs like this hand knotted nettle and silk beauty. At this point, they are basically part of his uniform.

This one needed a clipped corner, so it would fit in the room perfectly. After reshaping it, Jonathan hand-serged the edge to match the other sides of the rug.

Our whole team works on rugs every day, but Jonathan has always enjoyed the meticulous finishing work himself. It's time consuming, but he is a perfectionist and it shows in the work he puts out.

I'm personally rooting for these knee pads to do their job! Here's hoping he can still straighten up by retirement... we have some traveling to do!
