Larry Lee Sellers, USN (RET.), passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 78 years old.
Larry was born on September 13, 1947, in Little Rock, Arkansas to Vestal and Essie Sellers (Mathis). He attended North Little Rock High School, where he met the love of his life, Mary Porter. Following graduation, Larry and Mary were married, and soon after he began his service in the United States Navy.
After faithfully serving his country, Larry returned home to Arkansas and began a long and dedicated career with Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corporation, where he worked for nearly 40 years as a supervisor in the winding department before retiring in 2006.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Vestal and Essie Sellers.
A man of Christian faith, Larry found joy in life’s simple blessings. He loved traveling, tending his garden, spending time at the lake, and working on his beloved old trucks. He especially enjoyed taking his 1934 truck to car shows, where he proudly earned several awards over the years. One of his greatest joys was fishing with his grandson, Ty, who was not only his fishing buddy but also his partner in mischief. Together, they kept the family laughing with their endless jokes and antics.
Above all else, Larry was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather who treasured his family deeply. He and Mary shared 59 wonderful years of marriage, building a life rooted in love, faith, and unwavering devotion. He was known by those who loved him as kind, thoughtful, generous, and steady — someone whose quiet strength and caring spirit brought comfort to family and friends alike. Larry will be remembered for the warmth of his heart, his gentle nature, and the genuine care he showed to others throughout his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Sellers; his son, Craig Sellers (Tina); and his daughter, Wendy Sellers. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Allyson Sellers-Burnett (Hunter), Ty Sellers, and Kate Sellers.
