I learned long ago that you can’t always see every scar- some are much deeper than superficial skin wounds…
The emotional scars of heartache or hurtful words sometimes don’t ever fully heal,
But they’re still there as a reminder…
Of times that life took its best shot at me, trying to hurt me and bring me down-
But never could.
Maybe I can’t run my hands over those kinds of scars, but they’re still there and still hurt in their own way.
Other people can’t see those but they don’t have to-
Most wouldn’t understand the story behind those deepest kinds of scars.
But I do.
I can think back to how I felt and how it hurt when those scars ache just a bit..
But that’s when I close my eyes and remember how far I’ve come, how much stronger I’ve become and the person that I am now.
Yeah, I got beat up and it was a hard time, but those scars are all there for a reason-
They remind me that I can get through anything and I always will.
I’m much more than a survivor, I’m a warrior.
I love deeply and live passionately.
Maybe I fall down and make mistakes, but that’s just part of the journey- the parts that I learn and grow from.
I know that tomorrow will come and with each day, I become a better person..
And that’s what matters most to me.
Being better than I was yesterday.
And those scars?
They just remind me of where I’ve been so that I never go back.
Onward and upward, always.
Life is a beautiful journey..
And I’m going to enjoy it the best that I can,
One glorious step, moment and day at a time.
