When we had projects going in Kailua-Kona as well. We were hustling through the night to get things done for an open house we had scheduled the next day at Ola Brew.
Do we miss working in Kona? Nope 🙂‍↔️ 😆 It is so nice and dry but too hot for construction work! We really do have the best weather in the world though don’t we? .

Already one of the top airbnbs in Volcano 🌋
A simple, smart layout and clean design that was an absolute pleasure to help bring to life.

This gem is less than a year old but has pieces of this island’s history brought in through the addition of furniture made of landmark fallen trees. One tree stump loaded with character, memories and burn marks holds up the Big Island for dining experiences to be cherished. Sliding glass panel doors take of two full walls allowing this home to be completely opened up to the outdoors. Enjoy the sauna and hot tub surrounded by bamboo with a view of a lava tube cave lit up red at night. From the queen bed you’re able to stargaze out windows above. A bathtub and shower sit in this elegant tiled bathroom which has two entrances. A wood-burning fireplace keeps things cozy and warm as you cuddle up on the couch after preparing a lovely dinner in the full kitchen provided. Laundry can be done through the walk-in pantry/closet after a day hiking through the rainforest and viewing lava eruptions at Hawaii Volcanos National Park, which is only minutes away.

Who has harvested or used wood from the invasive Albizia? We’re about to cut into this giant trunk for our next build.

• Albizia is large tree that can grow up to 150ft. tall
• Extremely fast growing, up to 15 ft per year (possibly the fastest growing tree in the world)
• Its brittle limbs are prone to “sudden branch drop,” where branches suddenly fall without warning
• Produces large numbers of seeds/pods easily dispersed by the wind

This Paradise model tiny home on wheels was designed to accommodate a family of six. Four girls each with their own twin bed -and then there’s a king size mattress up in the loft for the adults. They can even have friends sleep over on the pull-out sleeper sofa.
My favorite item of all time went into this home: a 100% copper soaking tub 😍🛁

I just met with the own of this Oasis yesterday. It was great to see you and catch up, Christyn!! 🩵🌺 I am forever proud of how this Oasis came out. It was Paradise Tiny Homes’ 2nd build -meaning the second tiny home I ever designed. The curved exposed ceiling beams mixed with the sharp steep angles, the accent lighting, the natural light from the windows and their positioning, the mango top banister and luxury linen bedding on a thick mattress make this loft my favorite sleeping loft to date. This place also got a hammock loft installed but it’s not shown in these photos.
I got creative with the staircase- wanting it to curve around so you landed at the door abut more so, being lead into the kitchen and straight away to the bathroom. Spiral staircases are very cool! But this design allows for bookshelves built-in that face the living room AND cabinet, closet and fridge storage. The treads are sanded and polished with care making each lip edge soft and touchable. The local mango wood feels great on your feet and the triangles double as extra seating in the space.
The countertops are stainless steel, which I think is the coolest thing to have in your kitchen- they are reflective and keep light bouncing around while matching the kitchen appliances and the cookware. Also, stainless is CLEAN. There’s a dishwasher, washer/dryer and a full size fridge in this galley kitchen, a cooktop and a small oven. It really is an extremely practical work area with plenty of counter space!
Exposed beams above the kitchen were left as natural wood for that added rustic warmth to co treat the blue tile and stainless. OKAY the best part!: the 80” pass-through awning window openings on BOTH side of the kitchen. The side facing the deck has a built-in outdoor bar you can sit at also!
The bathroom has a special architectural feature beyond keeping super high vaulted ceilings- it has a angle coming right out the center of the room for the corner shower to be centered and pointed out- so when you look through the bathroom opening- you see watery blue tile with a greenhouse room and plants instead of …. A toilet. Or a sink.
The vanity is in the corner add way more space and style.

Send this to mom! …No, I don’t mean this post, like, get this for mom. She can rent land for one anywhere or maybe even stay with you. How good would it feel to say: “look at this little gem I got you in Hawaii! I was thinking of how you said you always wanted your own little creative space- that you wanted to downsize and simplify, that you wanted something especially easy to clean and maintain. Well now you have this! And it’s so easy to move. You can even stay with us on our property and not in the guest room but in your very own space. Everything is on one level - no loft or stairs you have to climb to get to bed … so even your dog can sleep with you (as I know, you wouldn’t have it any other way). You deserve to live in comfort waking up in a place you love.
It has all the comforts you’re used to- maybe even more! And it’s already furnished- even the bed is already made for you- I’ll just run an electric cord and a water hose out to the spot next to the lychee tree and you can park and plug in and stay as long as you want!
