🤯 Did you know some Catasetum orchids can produce completely different male and female flowers?

Same cross here, but look at the difference! Light plays a big role! Catasetums grown in brighter conditions are more likely to produce female flowers, while lower light levels often favor male flowers. But genetics and growing conditions can influence the outcome too.

Nature never ceases to amaze us. Which flower do you prefer, male or female? 👇

☀️ Is it sunburn?

Too much direct sunlight can leave orchids with bleached, yellow, tan or brown patches on their leaves. The damage will remain but new growth can stay healthy once the plant is moved to the right light.

💧 Pseudobulbs are your orchid's built-in storage tanks!

They store water and nutrients, helping fuel new roots, growths, and blooms. Even older pseudobulbs continue supporting the plant, so don't remove them.

🌱 New flask arrivals are here! Fresh clones have just landed in the greenhouse, and this batch includes some truly exciting Cattleya selections. Tiny now but full of incredible potential.

🚫 No potting soil here! Orchid roots need airflow, drainage and the right balance of moisture to thrive.

We're breaking it ALL down:
✅ Pros of sphagnum moss
✅ Pros of bark
✅ The amendments we add to bark for better drainage + moisture retention

Getting your media right = healthier roots = more blooms 🌸
