I am OFFICIALLY medically cleared!!
I went to my doctor yesterday for my 2 week post op appointment for my supercervical hysterectomy I had on October 6th. I am healing perfectly, all 4 incisions are healing too. I will go in 4 weeks to make sure my largest one heals as it should. I know this is a wood flower business, but my business is apart of me and me apart of it so I am going to share my diagnosis in hopes it helps others advocate for their health too.
After my surgery in July, there were not many answers and it was very disheartening. The pain was so debilitating at some points. My nausea and vomitting was worsening (i have actually lost over 50 pounds from September to July from it), affecting so much of my life that it was very hard to look ahead with certainty. It was starting to affect how other organs functioned to the point that my gallbladder was scheduled to be removed too.
The amount of testing, blood work, doctor visits this last year alone was a lot. After my July surgery, they started to suspect Adenomyosis. Which is a very painful condition that affects the muscle of the uterus. The lining of your uterus grows into the muscle and gets trapped. As you go through your cycle, it worsens. The lining in the muscle sheds just like the normal tissue does during menstruation. However, there is no where to go. So your body tries to heal it. This causes scare tissue to continuously build. Making the uterus grow, misshapen and become uncomfortable. Mine was bulky, almost a circle, and enlarged.
With this condition being suspected, I had the opportunity to keep my cervix, which had lessened the recovery period significantly. After they removed my uterus, pathology showed that it was that condition and that my uterus without my cervix was larger than a healthy uterus with the cervix included. It was incredibly validating though, knowing that was the issue. That it was removed.
I woke from a post surgery nap at home, the day of my operation and the feeling of relief I felt, genuine relief was amazing. I feel like a new person.
That being said, I am incredibly thankful that my doctors listened to me. Searched for the answer and found a solution. After 2+ years, this chapter is finally closed.
I want to thank all of you too. I know my level of service, experience and standard was not to what I hold myself and my business too. As I get caught up on things and cleaning up the chaos, I am hopeful to be back on track by the start of the year. Bring 2027 in as a true clean slate.
Heres to making tipsy shine as it was meant to!!! π₯°
I am listening to my body as I get back into the swing of things. π I am so happy with the outcome though!!!
