for some reason, i swear i get some of my best work done on planes- unplugged. especially when wifi was $40 on this flight like nooooo thank you!! no distractions, nowhere to go, just me + my ipad for 6 hours on a red eye- heading to my college roomies wedding!!

wowieeeee what a dream!! so incredibly honored to have designed this year’s contest artwork for the hawaiʻi adaptive surfing championships!! AccesSurf Hawaii

surfing and art are two of the biggest pieces of my heart, so getting to bring them together for an event that celebrates such an INCREDIBLE community of athletes feels extra special. so grateful to have a little piece of my art be part of it all :))

enjoy this little trip down memory lane | my art journey as told through instagram screenshots haha

from 2014 (my junior year of high school) through art school, through all the weird experimental phases, to finding my style starting in 2021.

honestly this is SUCH a journey. always has been and always will. and i wanted to share it because i think it’s really important to show that growth happens through MAKING. not through waiting until you’re “good enough” or have “found your style.” make art!!! even now, as someone who creates full time for themselves for a living, I am STILL experimenting and hoping to evolve.

every awkward phase, every random experiment, every style shift taught me something. you guys are mainly only seeing the polished version online, but behind that is YEARS of evolution.

also kinda emotional/funny seeing the growth through old insta screenshots hahaha 🥲 wowww. you can even scroll waaaay down on my page and see more of the transition from around 2020 when i really started diving into digital art.

anyways. make the art. post the art. keep it to yourself. whatever you do, just make it :)
