Picture this - three layers, each telling a tale of Walnut, Cherry, and Walnut again. Bound together with patience and precision, the glue-up is a dance of craftsmanship. It rests for 24 hours, a period of anticipation, before the transformation begins.⁠

Mounted delicately on the lathe, the piece spins, revealing its secrets. A screw chuck finds its place, unlocking the hidden beauty within. With each pass of the bowl gouge, the exterior takes shape, leaving behind a tenon, a connection to its origin.⁠

4️⃣ Unveiling the Heart:⁠

Flipped and secured in a jaw chuck, the true artistry begins. A bowl gouge, in skilled hands, hollows out the piece to the desired depth and thickness. Sanded to a smooth embrace of 600, it rests momentarily, a vessel ready to cradle moments.⁠

Enter spalted hard maple, a harmonious companion. It turns gracefully, crafting a lid and handle that complete the tale. A guide hole, wood glue, and the honey dipper take their place - a perfect union. Clamped and left to dream for 24 hours, a masterpiece is in the making.⁠
