Hip hop lost a legend today. Rest in peace to Rob Base, the voice behind one of the most iconic party anthems ever made. “It Takes Two” wasn’t just a song, it was the soundtrack to block parties, roller rinks, house parties, boom boxes and an entire era of hip hop culture.
Rob Base helped bring rap into the mainstream while keeping that raw Harlem energy that made the golden age feel so special. Decades later, those beats still hit instantly and the memories attached to them never faded.
