Many of you may have noticed a marked in person and social media absence from me over the last several months. The physical absence wasn’t planned. I unfortunately had several health setbacks, have received quite a few new diagnoses and am finally making some headway accessing specialists to help me navigate my new health journey.
Along the way my dad, down in Georgia, had a serious health crisis of his own. This resulted in a month long hospitalization including a facility transfer to a higher level of care. With 12 hours notice I made an emergency trip south to help he and my family advocate and navigate the nightmare that was mid-January through mid-February.
This took a pretty heavy toll physically, mentally and emotionally. I was paying a heavy price for events and illnesses outside of my control. After the holidays, I made the choice to take a very conscious step back from social media. Which in turn also meant stepping back from my candle business and yoga classes. I had to prioritize and focus on what was in front of me at the moment for myself and my family. Any extras which required physical, mental and emotional presence on my part were shelved or handed off to angels and dear friends who stepped in to fill what voids they could.
All of this is to say thank you. Thank you for still being here. Thank you to so many of you who checked in over the last several months. Thank you for continuing to check in even when I was “radio silent”. All of it meant more than you could possibly know. It kept my head above water and allowed me to focus on taking things one step at a time.
I am just beginning to feel like the ground underneath my feet holds the promise of becoming more stable again. I am hopeful once I am able to access my new medical team members I will begin to feel and see positive changes. I really need that. It has been a rocky existence in this body for a bit. I look forward to some progress now that several medical “mysteries” have been revealed.
For the time being my business social media presence will continue to stay scaled back. I look forward to pouring new fresh scents and products as we look forward to the season of sun and the outdoors. I am hoping to again offer a few “pour your own” events if the planets align.
For health reasons, at this time I am unable to step back onto the mat to teach in the capacity I was before. I will continue looking into suitable alternatives such as the possibility of a guided meditation class, a yin or restorative style yoga class or who knows maybe just a get together deep breath and decompress style class. I have really missed my community during this time and am yearning to be surrounded by all of you soon.
Again, thank you for continuing to be here. I look forward to all the new possible adventures that await us!
Sincerely,
Robin
