I have to bee the worst at Posting but I did want to say thank you to several people.

Yesterday 8-25-2020 a storm rolled thru the area of River View High School. The storm blew over an old cherry tree in the schools vocational agriculture pasture across from the school. Allyssa Mullett checked and found that a honeybee nest was destroyed. Allyssa and I checked it out last night and decided that the bees would die unless we tried to move them. Doug Rizert put out an email appeal for help to collect and move the bees at 10:00 am this morning. I was very happy to see the following people at the farm this morning waiting on me. Allyssa Mullett, Randy Sturgeon, Ken Tumblin, Brian Carter, Greg Lauvray and Colston Lauvray. Within 2 hours the bees were collected along with 5 frames of brood and honey. Randy and Brian relocated the nest to the West Lafayette area. Social distancing was observed, no one took a serious sting and Colston did most of the work. I was extremely happy that everyone worked but me. Thank you all very much.

Well you can bleach beeswax a beautiful white buttttt it changes the structure of the wax. It is closer to being soft than hard. You can crumble the wax by squeezing it. I'm not even sure it will still burn.

With pollen coming in I'm feeding thin sugar syrup so I went looking for a "sweet deal". Wal-Mart has sugar at $2.20 for 10 # bag ($0.01375 per ounce) . when you use 1000 # per year cost is important. Honey sells for $0.25 per ounce. I'd rather they eat sugar and leave the honey for me.

Finishing up the cleaning of beeswax that I melted out of old brood frames last summer.

The cloth is my first attempt at making beeswax wraps. Robin had bought a set so I'm trying to copy.
