I don't even know where to start with this one.
Today my son was sworn into the Rhode Island Air National Guard, and I stood there trying so hard to hold it together. I didn't. Not even a little bit.
This kid grew up a military brat. He has lived on bases, packed up his life more times than I can count, and watched what service looks like from the inside. And he still chose it. That tells you everything about who he is.
What made today even more special was WHERE it happened. Right at the start of Rugby practice, surrounded by his coaches, his teammates, his recruiter, his friends... and us. All of us together watching this kid step into something so much bigger than himself.
He is going to be an Aircraft Crew Chief. I could not be more proud of the man he has become.
And can I just say... this same kid has been by my side at Unique Pl8z since he was THREE years old. Three! He is one of my longest and most loyal employees and he has grown into someone I genuinely admire, not just as my son, but as a person.
I love you a wicked lot of muches Ben. Go be great. You already are. High School graduation is just days away.
Oh The Places you will Go!
