If you've wondered why this account has been quiet for a while, this is why 🥰

My husband and I are so excited to be welcoming a baby girl in early 2027.

I really can't describe my current state of emotions. We've been looking forward to and trying for this for a long time, so I'm feeling disbelief and joy and nervousness and so many other things daily.

We're so grateful for the community we have, and wow. What a journey that lies ahead!

I still plan on making and posting. It just may be a little sporadic until I can find a new rhythm 🩷🎀

Happy Saturday! It's been a couple weeks since we unloaded Tammy's train kiln, but I will have pictures of some of my pots from that firing coming soon. A lot of glaze experiments in that — some that worked great, some that definitely need re-fired. But that's the name of the game!

Perfect also for blueberries coming in hot!

An urn for Rosie 🩷

My sister asked me to make this for her beloved childhood dog who passed away last year. She initially asked for it for her birthday (which is in October 😬). Attempt one: the lid stuck. Attempt two: the glaze ran and the bottom not only stuck to my kiln shelf but also completely broke apart. Attempt three: success 🙌🏼

A mirror!?

I attempted to make one of those viral spinning berry rinsers, but trimmed through the bottom. Instead of throwing the clay away, I decided to do something different.

I used this as a glaze tester for Green Jasper, which is not dinnerware safe. And honestly, I'm obsessed! I lined the mirror with matching macrame yarn, and now it can be hung in someone's home.

Hi! It's been 100 years since I last posted, but I finally got around to taking some photos of recent work ✨

I took a hand building class with at a few weeks ago for my sister-in-law's birthday, and because I'm a member, I was able to take this guy home and glaze it however I wanted to.

I had been working on a sugar jar that I wanted to have match this, and I think they both turned out so nice! Since the glaze I used on the outside is not considered to be dinnerware safe, I lined the inside with a gorgeous glaze from .

Behind the scenes, I've also been trying to make things out of specialty clay I've collected over the years, and that means firing my little kiln more and honing in my glaze firings better. I think I've found the sweet spot, which is firing to cone 5 with a 15-minute hold. It gets the heat work done that I want without compromising glaze quality 👌🏼 we love to see it!

Glazes are: Milk Glass by , Honey flux by , and Ocean Mist by KY Mudworks

Underglazes are: Medium Blue Velvet Underglaze by Amaco; Tuxedo, Cutie Pie Coral, and Melon-Choly Stroke and Coat by Mayco

First versions of butter dishes in .geo's Poblano clay body. I like how they turned out all things considered! Hopefully one will be on its way to a friend in TX this week!

I'm taking a hand building butter dish class with in a little less than a week so I can improve my skills. But I defffffinitely think more of these (in a slightly different shape) will be coming in the future!
