My design for Hoogstraten Groenten & Bloemen is on the move—being transported to its place on the street!

Tomorrow I’ll add the final touches, and tomorrow night is the opening reception. A heartfelt thank-you to the wonderful volunteers and my floral friends who helped bring it all together. I truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Almost ready for the reveal!

Day 2: Learning what bamboo can do. 🎋

After harvesting the material, we moved into the studio with Charissa Brock to explore different ways of working with it—splitting, bending, heating and manipulating bamboo while paying attention to its natural strength and flexibility.

What interested me most was seeing how a material that appears so rigid can become remarkably responsive once you understand how to work with its structure.

Two more days to explore—and I’m curious to see where the material takes us next.
