Me: gives the most detailed, step-by-step directions possible

My students: ๐Ÿฆ๐ŸŽถโœจ

Followed immediately byโ€ฆ

โ€œWaitโ€ฆ what are we supposed to do?โ€ ๐Ÿ˜‚

Every. Single. Time.

Please tell me Iโ€™m not the only teacher who gives directions just to realize approximately 3 people were listening. ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜‚

Okay elementary teachers, I have a questionโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€

If someone handed you $500 RIGHT NOW and said: โ€œYou have to spend this on your classroom.โ€

What are you buying first?! ๐Ÿ’ธ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ“š Books?
๐Ÿช‘ Flexible seating?
โœ๏ธ Supplies?
๐Ÿงบ Classroom organization?
โ˜• A really, really nice coffee maker? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Tell me whatโ€™s going in your cart! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Itโ€™s the little teacher wins that make the biggest difference. ๐ŸŽโœจ Whatโ€™s a classroom win that always makes your day? ๐Ÿ‘‡

๐ŸŽ FRIDAY TEACHER TIP!
Before you leave school today, take 5 minutes and do ONE thing that Monday-you will appreciate.

โœจ Make your Monday copies
โœจ Straighten your teacher table or desk
โœจ Write Mondayโ€™s morning message
โœจ Set out the first activity for Monday
โœจ Refill your emergency snack drawer ๐Ÿ˜‚

You do NOT have to have everything perfectly ready before you leave. Just do one little thing that makes Monday morning easier. โค๏ธ
Whatโ€™s one thing you always try to do before leaving on Friday?

Thereโ€™s a special kind of tired that only exists at the beginning of a school year. ๐Ÿ˜…๐ŸŽ

- Youโ€™re learning 25+ little personalities.
- Repeating procedures for the 47th time.
- Trying to remember dismissal changes.
- Answering emails.
- Planning lessons.
- Making copies.
- And somehow still trying to remember where you set down your coffee. โ˜•๐Ÿ˜‚

If youโ€™re coming home completely exhausted right now, youโ€™re definitely not the only one. The beginning of the year is A LOT. Give yourself some grace. The routines will come. The classroom will settle. And eventually, you wonโ€™t have to explain how to turn in a paper 14 times before lunch. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Youโ€™re doing better than you think. ๐Ÿ’›

๐ŸŽ Teacher check-in! Weโ€™re officially in Septemberโ€ฆ so I need to know: How are we doing, teachers? ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ‘ Thriving
โค๏ธ Surviving on caffeine
๐Ÿ˜‚ What day is it?
๐Ÿคช A little bit of all three

Drop your answer below! ๐Ÿ‘‡

And if youโ€™re an elementary teacher, follow along! Iโ€™m sharing classroom ideas, teacher tips, resources, and plenty of teacher humor to help us get through the school year together. โค๏ธ

One of my favorite things about teaching is watching students grow in confidence throughout the year. โœจ

They may not know everything yet, but every read-aloud, math lesson, classroom discussion, and encouraging conversation helps them take another step forward. Those little "I did it!" moments are what make this job so rewarding. ๐Ÿ’™

What's your favorite part about being a teacher? I'd love to hear what keeps you coming back each year! ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ“š

๐Ÿ‚ Elementary teachers...your fall read aloud list is here! ๐Ÿ“š๐ŸŽƒ

Fall is the perfect time to bring cozy, seasonal stories into the classroom! I put together a collection of some of the best fall read alouds for elementary classrooms to use throughout September, October, and November.

Youโ€™ll find books featuring:
๐Ÿ Autumn leaves & changing seasons
๐ŸŽƒ Pumpkins
๐Ÿ‘ป Classroom-friendly Halloween fun
โค๏ธ Kindness & friendship
๐Ÿงก Gratitude & thankfulness

These books are perfect for morning meetings, literacy lessons, seasonal activities, SEL discussions, or simply enjoying a great story together.

Plus, I included recommended grade levels and ideas for why each book works so well in the classroom!
