🍎 Looking for a fun fall writing project that goes beyond another worksheet?

In this Design Your Own Apple Orchard activity, students get to use their creativity while practicing descriptive writing! 🍂✏️

Students will:
🍏 Invent their own apple varieties
🗺️ Design a map of their perfect orchard
👀 Brainstorm sensory details using the five senses
🪧 Create an orchard sign
🥧 Design a cafe menu
📣 Advertise their orchard
✏️ Draft, revise, edit, and publish a descriptive writing piece

It’s a fun way to combine writing + creativity + fall and is perfect for 2nd–4th grade!

🍎 FRIDAY TEACHER TIP!
Before you leave school today, take 5 minutes and do ONE thing that Monday-you will appreciate.

✨ Make your Monday copies
✨ Straighten your teacher table or desk
✨ Write Monday’s morning message
✨ Set out the first activity for Monday
✨ Refill your emergency snack drawer 😂

You do NOT have to have everything perfectly ready before you leave. Just do one little thing that makes Monday morning easier. ❤️

There’s a special kind of tired that only exists at the beginning of a school year. 😅🍎

- You’re learning 25+ little personalities.
- Repeating procedures for the 47th time.
- Trying to remember dismissal changes.
- Answering emails.
- Planning lessons.
- Making copies.
- And somehow still trying to remember where you set down your coffee. ☕😂

If you’re coming home completely exhausted right now, you’re definitely not the only one. The beginning of the year is A LOT. Give yourself some grace. The routines will come. The classroom will settle. And eventually, you won’t have to explain how to turn in a paper 14 times before lunch. 😂

You’re doing better than you think. 💛

One of my favorite things about teaching is watching students grow in confidence throughout the year. ✨

They may not know everything yet, but every read-aloud, math lesson, classroom discussion, and encouraging conversation helps them take another step forward. Those little "I did it!" moments are what make this job so rewarding. 💙
