Thoughts on faith, family, homemaking, homesteading, and stewarding the life and land God has provided. I am a Christian wife and mother living in Wisconsin�. My sweet garden boy 🍅

Fall is here but the warm days have not gone yet! We still have plenty producing in the garden. And we even have some bulbs to plant for spring flowers and seeds so sow for next season!

We are about to get swept up into the holiday season… Halloween 🎃 is around the corner, then Thanksgiving 🦃 right after that, and then… CHRISTMAS 🎄

How does time fly so fast?

I have been trying to declutter the house in preparation for hibernation haha

I’m not ready for snow yet but we still have time before the white stuff shows up. Plenty of time for bonfire nights, fishing, hiking, camping, beautiful fall colors and perfect weather for some outside runs!

I hope you’re enjoying the season changes! 🍁🍂

Two years ago I could barely hike without getting disoriented, dizzy, and in tears.

A year ago I couldn’t really picture being in peak health again.

6 months ago I was grasping at straws and pushing through any major flare up. Learning to live with it and not let it hold me back.

Now… well now is an answered prayer. Many, many prayers. I am always reminded of what Paul said:

Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may win.
Everyone who competes in the games exercises self-control in all things.

So they do it to obtain a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. Therefore I run in such a way as not to run aimlessly; I box in such a way, as to avoid hitting air; but I strictly discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.

This verse in 1 Corinthians 9 24-27 struck me to the core when I first read it a few months ago.

Run the race, do it with a purpose, don’t set your eyes on earthy gain, do not be a hypocrite, and put your body into submission with heavenly goals.

Paul uses an analogy of athletics to get his point across but it makes sense in the literal as well.

When I read that verse I knew I was charged with that responsibility. It gave me hope that I would be better enough to accomplish it.

And here we are. Making progress. Thank you my God. Thank you.
