I have always loved to make things, embellish things, refurbish things and make them my own. I started Nice Touch a lot of years ago, and through the pangs of church bazaars, craft fairs and small business start ups, was my ever present sense that this artistry was a part of me. I attended the University of The Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas and earned a BS in Home Economics , with an emphas

Hey y’all. I have to show y’all pics from my craft time visit with the residents in the senior center. It seems that the summer went by too fast and it was time to help them make sometime for Fall. I’m challenged to come up with some they will like to make and put on their room doors. I’m told they keep all the projects hanging someplace in their rooms even when the season is over.
So I helped them make a Fall wreath using foam board, felt and paper supplies.
Each visit warms my heart 💕

I’m working on switching my studio from summer to Fall and Halloween. I have to wrap my head around that especially since it’s still blazing hot at almost 100 degree in my little part of Texas.
So Mother Nature gave me a little hint this morning while I watered the lantana and mist flowers. The butterflies love these flowers. Usually the are yellow or blue in color. But this morning they were orange, with a black and white polka dot accented wing.

Hey y’all. After a short break from my volunteer work at te senior facilities, I met with the ladies from each facility so they could make a ‘rag flag’ to update their doors for the upcoming July 4 holiday.
We definitely had to work as a team, I was helping to set up and tie the knots so they could pull them tight and punch them all together.
Their rag flags were amazing and they love them! I did too 😊

I spent this Mother’s Day designing a wreath for a special young man who gained his wings last year. I talked to his sweet mom who wanted to celebrate what would have been his 16th birthday.
I had to get it together and ship it with only a few days notice. No time is order anything so I made the birthday cake attachment.

Somethings in this life will humble you, put things in perspective and teach you not to question what is beyond your understanding.

I hope this helps a little.

I discovered that I like the Carmel popcorn from Mama Moore's Gourmet Popcorn.
I love that the wreath I did was displayed in her popcorn shop. I made and paintef each popcorn kernel by hand and it was fun doing it and trying to mske it look good enough to eat
Y’all stop in and go get some. Lots of other flavors too 😊
