Established in 1989, Heckendorn Shiles Architects was built on fostering relationships between collaborators, clients and the community. Our open work environment empowers us to form dynamic and functional solutions while learning and growing as a team. Our studio has deliberately challenged itself to diversify our portfolio and skills over the past 25 years. We are practiced in taking new perspectives, but also know how to integrate past experiences to ensure a comprehensive project design.

Wrapping up our spotlight week, we are showcasing the Delaware Valley Friends School! The Delaware Valley Friends School community is focused on celebrating students' differences and optimizing individual strengths - something that we at HSA wanted to emphasize in our designs!

Phase 1 of our multi-phased project includes renovations to a lobby that encourages a friendly and welcoming environment, along with a new entry ramp and green roof canopy. The new addition includes art and ceramics classrooms, faculty offices and learning spaces filled with natural light. We are looking forward to see Phase 2 come to life!

For today's series, we're taking learning outside with a tour of Tredyffrin/Easttown School District playgrounds, a vibrant space designed to spark imaginative and active play.

With colorful train-themed structures, climbing walls, slides, swings and interactive games, this inclusive playground provides endless ways to explore, move and connect.

Today we're highlighting the Avon Grove Charter School Collaboratory for our series.

From tiered seating steps perfect for group gatherings, to colorful furniture arrangements that encourage collaboration, every detail was built to support connection and curiosity. Sliding glass walls open to an outdoor patio, blending inside and outside learning, while cafe-stye areas give students a relaxed spot to study, meet or recharge.

Take a seat, class - we are officially hashtag ! In honor of the new school year, we're turning the spotlight on some of our favorite education projects all week long. From vibrant classrooms to collaborative common areas, HSA design spaces where curiosity grows, ideas flow and learning comes to life.
