8 years in businessā€¦ and it all started with a sign in a pharmacy

Hi, Iā€™m Bri, the face behind Song Sparrow Design Co. šŸ‘‹šŸ¼

Iā€™m an interior designer based in the Raleigh, NC area. This past March marked 8 years in business, which still feels a little surreal to say out loud.

Design has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. But when I first started my business in 2018, I was teaching full time and trying to decide if leaving that career to pursue design was the right move.

I kept praying for clarity.

One day I walked into our former small town pharmacy. The kind that had a little home decor corner. A sign caught my eye that said:

ā€œBetter an oops than a what if.ā€

It stopped me in my tracks. It felt like the answer I had been asking for. The Lord showed me a literal sign and I havenā€™t looked back since.

That little wooden sign now sits on my desk as a daily reminder to always ā€œgo for itā€.

Eight years later, I still look at it often and Iā€™m so grateful I took the leap.

Now I get to spend my days helping clients create spaces they love and truly feel at home in.

A few fun facts about me:
ā€¢ Iā€™m a total extrovert. I never meet a stranger.
ā€¢ I love live music. Any genre, Iā€™m there.
ā€¢ Iā€™m left handed.
ā€¢ Iā€™ve moved 15 times in my life.
ā€¢ Iā€™m obsessed with thrifting and all things vintage.
