Mark your calendars and save the date for an incredible event! The 2024 Cars for Kacie Show is revving up at the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown, PA, on October 5, 2024! And just in case we need to dodge any rain, we have a backup date of October 12.

Registration kicks off bright and early at 8:00 a.m. right on-site. The start time might change, so stay tuned for updates! Best of all, this show is free for all spectators and will be packed with exciting features like guest speakers and a special auction of donated items and services.

Cars for Kacie is the heart and soul of Kacie’s Cause, and it’s the largest car show in the country dedicated to fighting substance use disorder. Every dollar we raise supports vital community efforts throughout the year, including our Recovery Residence Scholarships, Naloxone distribution, and professional therapy sessions for our support groups.

Good morning Whispering Mountain Fam, just wanted to say that the show on Saturday was absolutely wonderful, Did incredible sales, on our painted Acrylic car scenes. Today was Wood Day, and I couldn't be more thrilled! It was all about satisfying the insatiable hunger for the incredible Mira 9, which can effortlessly handle pieces as large as 25x35. To kick off the day, we paid a visit to our trusted local Plywood retailer, where we found a treasure trove of BBB 3mm and 6mm 5X5 sheets, each priced at just $20.00.

Then, it was off to my friend Tom's incredible workshop – a place filled with excitement and creativity. The moment I stepped in, I was greeted by that delightful aroma of freshly cut wood, which never fails to get my adrenaline pumping. In what felt like the blink of an eye, we transformed our 5'X5' sheets into a fantastic array of 20"X30" pieces.

This not only allowed us to create pieces perfectly suited for the Mira 9 but also brought our overall cost down to a mere $3.33 per piece! When you factor in the boost in production, it's safe to say that this day just keeps getting better and better. 😁🌟

There is no stopping us now:
Did I mention how frekin thrilled I am with my new Mira 9? After almost a week of completely dismantling my workshop, stressing over manpower, and melting my brain over the physics, lift, and balance of getting the amazing machine on its perch without a scratch it is finally there and my shop is almost back to normal. After running my first custom piece I want back to producing stock for my shows. I was completely blown away by the speed and accuracy that this machine is capable of. Just as a comparison, I ran the same three nurse ornaments through my Glowforge, first masking both sides of the wood to limit the burn-over. I ran 8 ornaments to a sheet with the middle-quality setting for the etching. That sheet took 3.5 hours in the Glowforge, I then had to remove all of the masking and gentle sand to clean up any residue.
I ran the same 8 per sheet (standard GF size sheet), with no masking. To be fair I ran the job the same 3.5hrs The difference was this time I had 56 ornaments instead of just 8.
