If you’re in a hurry, this is not your post…

As many of you know, the City has, in recent months, caused quite a stir on our quiet little corner. No parking signs. Construction and road closures. And recently, we have been slapped with threatening letters and violations. They have even gone so far as to flat out BAN live music on our stage and private rentals of our Ivy Room. Why? This is perhaps a matter of opinion. But here is one take:

People are here. Clients, workers, friends, family…we are all sharing this space and thriving. It has grown into something much better than we imagined, but at a cost. The City left us with a poor entrance in 2020, and have not been able to come to agreement on a way to fix it. People coming to be here, are confused and the traffic is unfavorable. It is stemming into neighboring areas and causing backed up traffic at times.

How can you help? Well…🤔

1. Show up.
The next major meeting is at the old City Hall building on Tuesday, September 3rd. If you are in the area, please join us at 5:30pm to show the Commission that we matter. And that you support us.

2. Write a letter or call your Commissioners.
The contact information for all current Commissioners can be found on the City of West Fargo website. Please be kind. We are trying to encourage them to vote favorably and hear us out. Be professional and be polite.

3. Share this post. If you aren’t able to advocate in person, consider letting social media know. Encourage others to do the same.

4. Shop local. Our little shop on the corner and many others like it, thrive on your patronage and depend on your support. Without you engaging in our store, we cease to exist.

5. Give this video a listen. It has many more details about the history of the issues. Posts cap at 2,200 characters…who knew?

6. Stay beautiful. This means something different for everyone reading this post. But you are all qualified to be beautiful inside and out. We appreciate you and are thankful for all the love over the last 5 summers of SheyWest. 🫶🏻 Hoping to stay a few more…
