Funky Vibes is working with Rocky Mountain Prep across their 12 schools to help kids come to school more often! We’re making fun 3D-printed fidgets that students can earn as attendance rewards, plus teacher appreciation gifts for teachers who make progress increasing student attendance. 💜

🥟 There’s just one problem…the students LOVE the dumplings, and we can’t print them fast enough!

We’re looking for kids, families, and anyone in the neighborhood with a 3D printer who wants to help us print as many dumplings as possible for a really good cause.

🎉 Where Does the Money Go When You Buy a Funky Vibes Dumpling? 🎉

We've received several questions about how the finances work, so we thought it would be fun to share what happens behind the scenes. A lot more people are involved than you might think!

🥟 Step 1: The Filament Manufacturer
Everything starts with a spool of PLA filament. A typical 2.2 lb (1 kg) spool costs about $10–15, and each dumpling uses about $0.86–$1.40 worth of filament.

🖨️ Step 2: The Printer
The person printing the dumpling supplies the printer, performs maintenance, chooses the filament colors, starts the print, removes the brim, and makes sure the finished product is store quality. We currently pay $4 per dumpling, allowing the printer to earn about $2.60–$3.14 after filament costs.

💜 Step 3: Funky Vibes
Funky Vibes receives about $2 per dumpling. That helps cover paying the talented designer who created the 3D model, designing and testing new products, creating videos and social media, communicating with local stores, transporting inventory, applying price stickers, quality-checking every dumpling, and keeping displays stocked.

🏪 Step 4: Beyond the Blackboard
Beyond the Blackboard purchases the finished dumpling from Funky Vibes and sells it for $15.60. About $9.60 of the retail price stays with the store to help cover employees, rent, utilities, inventory storage, displays, damaged or stolen products, and the many other costs of operating a local retail business.

❤️ Every dumpling represents a team effort. From the person who designed the model, to the people printing it, to Funky Vibes, to the local store that puts it on the shelf—every purchase supports multiple small businesses and creators right here in our community.

🌈 Big news from Funky Vibes! 🥟

A huge shoutout to Arya, our very first community maker! 🎉 Arya printed two beautiful Rainbow Dumplings, and they're already on display at Jolly Goods on Tennyson Street!

The dumpling family is growing fast! Alongside the Rainbow Dumplings, we've also added our Banana Cream Pie Dumpling 🍌🥧 and Ocean Treasure Dumpling 🌊✨ to the display.

One of the things we're most excited about is that when you visit Jolly Goods, you might be taking home a fidget printed by a talented maker from our own community. That's pretty cool!

Thank you, Arya, for helping bring more color, creativity, and smiles to Funky Vibes. We can't wait to see more community-made creations on our display.

I am printing another tray of dumplings today. Let's all share pictures of the dumplings we are printing so we can ensure that we have a wide range of colors to deliver to stores. This tray is going to be yellow with an apple green rim on the bottom and white on top to look like a banana dumpling with whipped cream. I will share the link to the file at the bottom in case anyone wants to add a topping color or bottom color to their dumplings ❤️

🎉 Our First Funky Vibes Print Opportunity is Here! 🎉

We're looking for people with 3D printers to help us print our adorable dumplings! 🥟 Kids, parents, grandparents—everyone is welcome!
💵 Pay: $4 per dumpling
🧵 Estimated printing cost: About $0.86–$1.40 each (depending on your filament), so you'll earn approximately $2.60–$3.14 per dumpling.

📈 The fun part? Those earnings add up quickly if you print multiple dumplings at once. While we're traveling, we're printing 15 dumplings on a single build plate, so one print job can turn into a nice payout. If your printer has room, feel free to batch print!

⚠️ Please choose the correct file before you start printing. This is VERY important!

🖨️ If your printer can print multiple colors in one print (such as a Bambu Lab AMS): Print the AMS version. This is the version we've tested extensively, and we know it produces great results.

🖨️ If your printer prints only one color at a time: Print the No AMS version. It prints the parts separately, and you'll need to glue the pieces together with the help of a parent or someone comfortable using super glue.

🌈 Color matters! We're looking for super cute, multicolor dumplings that customers won't be able to resist picking up. Have fun mixing colors and creating combinations that really pop! If you're not sure which colors work well together, feel free to send us a message before you start printing—we'd be happy to help you choose a winning combination.

⭐ Let's make these dumplings store-ready!
These little guys are headed to local stores, so we're looking for prints that you'd be proud to see on a retail shelf.

🥟 Please remove the brim before turning them in.

🖨️ For the best results, start with a clean build plate, clean nozzles, and a well-calibrated printer. Those few extra minutes make a huge difference!

✨ If a print has major defects, layer shifts, blobs, gaps, poor layer adhesion, or other noticeable flaws, we'd rather you keep it than bring it to us. We want every customer who picks up a Funky Vibes dumpling to think, "Wow, this is awesome!"
