This started as a simple photo on a phone, a picture of a family member’s dog, and we turned it into a raised 3D resin canvas print on an 8" × 10" canvas. The nose, paws, and facial features lift slightly off the surface, giving the photo real depth and texture as light moves across it. It’s honestly something you have to see in person to fully appreciate.

We have the ability to print directly to over 300+ different materials! We can't wait to start bringing these projects to life. We’re still fine-tuning the machine and dialing everything in, but if the first few pieces are any indication, we can’t wait to see what we’ll be able to do with it.

While we continue to grow our 3D printing business, this is simply the cherry on top, and we’re excited to start combining the two. More experiments and projects coming soon.

We had some new hardware arrive here at Owl Craft Customs a couple weeks ago… and like a lot of things around the shop, it sat patiently waiting its turn while the print farm kept running. 😅

Tonight we finally carved out some time to fire it up and see what it can do.

This dragon is one of our first tests on a 12" × 16" canvas, and what makes it really unique is that it isn’t flat. The details actually rise about 0.13" (around 3.2 mm) off the surface, creating a true 3D relief effect. When light hits the horns, scales, and facial features, the shadows shift and the dragon almost feels sculpted rather than simply placed on the canvas.

Pictures honestly don’t do it justice — the depth and texture look even better in person. can you see the 3D effect? It looks so much better in person!

Think of this new machine like a regular inkjet printer — except instead of printing on paper, it can apply full-color designs directly onto phone cases, wood, metal, leather, acrylic, mugs, and hundreds of other materials. It uses premium UV inks that cure instantly, making the finish scratch-resistant, fade-resistant, and weatherproof. One of the coolest features is the ability to create raised textures and dimensional effects, almost like a 3D printer but in full color. Cameras and lasers scan the object first so everything lines up perfectly before it starts.

So far, we’ve already experimented with custom UV tumblers, gravel bike stem caps, cell phone cases, and a few other pieces — and this dragon canvas is one of the first larger relief tests.

This is just the beginning of our journey into UV printing, and we’re excited to see what comes next. More photos to come as we continue to explore!

🐴🐄 Looks like a little farm moved into the Owl Craft Customs print farm!

These 3D-printed horses, cows, and stables just finished printing and turned out fantastic. Watching a whole barnyard come to life layer by layer on the printer never gets old.

We’ve been busy preparing for the 2026 season, and even though we don’t post every day, the print farm has been running around the clock producing new creations and stocking up on favorites.

💃🕺 Mom & Son Boogie Bash — A Night for Our dynamic duo!

You may have seen this shared in local groups or on my personal page. We’re now posting it here on the OwlCraftCustoms page to reach more local families and make sure this opportunity is open to the entire community.

Last year, I attended a Father–Daughter dance and it was incredible. It reminded us how important these moments are — and how quickly they pass. We only get so many years while our kids are young.

So we’re working to pull together a Mom & Son Boogie Bash — a fun, high-energy night for our community filled with music, dancing, and memories our boys will never forget. This is a community event led by our family, proudly supported by OwlCraftCustoms.

To move forward, we need to gauge interest. Events like this involve real costs (venue, DJ, catering, photo booth, decorations, etc.), and based on similar events, tickets would likely be around $50 per person, depending on final details. We’re looking at venues convenient for families in and around West Newton, Irwin, Greensburg, and the surrounding Westmoreland/Allegheny communities.

We’re aiming for 150–200 families interested so we can confidently secure a venue and start planning. If this is something you’d love to attend, please fill out the quick interest form below and feel free to share with other moms.
