South Florida homeowners — now is the best time to get ready for hurricane season, and here’s why.

Every year, the same pattern repeats itself. A storm forms. The forecast cone turns toward Florida. Hardware stores empty overnight. Contractors are suddenly booked for weeks. Prices spike. Stress levels rise.

And every year, the people who prepared early are the ones who sleep better.

Hurricane season doesn’t officially start until June 1, but the work that actually protects your home is best done before the season begins - when there’s no rush, no panic, and no shortages.

This is the time to:

• Check your roof for loose tiles, shingles, or leaks
• Make sure hurricane shutters or impact windows are ready and functional
• Trim trees and remove weak branches that could become projectiles
• Secure fences, sheds, and outdoor furniture
• Review insurance coverage — especially flood insurance, which often has waiting periods
• Build or refresh your emergency supply kit while shelves are still full

Waiting until a storm is named is already too late. By then, you’re competing with everyone else for the same supplies, the same contractors, and the same limited time.

Preparation done now isn’t about fear - it’s about control. It’s about protecting your family, your investment, and your peace of mind.

South Florida knows hurricanes. The smart move is not reacting at the last minute, but preparing when conditions are calm.

If you’ve been meaning to “get to it eventually,” consider this your sign to start now. https://www.impactwindowsdoors.com/

NOAA just released its 2025 hurricane forecast. Here’s what to know. As Florida continues to lick its wounds from last year’s devastating hurricane season, storm experts Thursday said to gear up for what could be another active season. Hurricane experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said they are expecting an above normal Atlantic hurricane season. The agency said it is anticipating up 13 to 19 named storms, of which six to 10 could become hurricanes and three to five could ramp up into a major hurricane, a Category 3 storm or higher. Is your home storm ready? https://www.impactwindowsdoors.com
