One year ago today I caught a python with my bare hands in the Everglades. It was the Year of the Snake in Chinese astrology and that synchronicity is still not lost on me. This moment will be burned into my memory for a lifetime. I have always had a fascination with snakes and they seemed to show up in my life at weird times and in unconventional ways. This python hunt was something I felt like I needed to do. I can’t really explain why but after the fact I know exactly why. It marked my transformation as a woman. I looked down at something that had once terrified me so much and I grabbed it with my hands. What I didn’t expect was the power I felt by pushing myself so far outside of my comfort zone that there wasn’t a chance I would go back to the woman I was even one second before that experience. When I feel scared about something I think back to this moment and I just compare it to reaching down and grabbing a python. All the fears seem to melt away and I remind myself that I can do scary things. I have told this story and showed this video so many times and every time I feel even more like a badass. Thank you to for coaching me through this whole process and giving me the experience of a lifetime. And what followed was even better for this woman who needed to know just how strong she can be.
