These guys are who make me feel the proudest as a woman. Raising them is the most crucial role any women/mother can have, as far as I'm concerned. They're the future, the worlds best hope, our chance to make things better. They’re my life.
They must envelop all that is loving and nurturing and strive to pass it on. Teaching and encouraging your children to be present and thoughtful, and engaged takes just that. And it is without a doubt the most demanding job in the world.
We must manage and tolerate our frustrations, be flexible, have problem-solving skills, and see things from our child's perspective.
Thanks to the game-changing ,these are a few of the things I remind myself of every day:
Define yourself rather than defining your child.
Don't pretend your decisions are grounded in facts when, in fact, they are grounded in your own feelings and preferences.
Remember, you are both on the same side.
Collaborate and brainstorm rather than dictate.
A lack of authenticity causes a rupture, and you will be able to repair it by becoming authentic.
And remember: children behave as they are done to.
Women are natural multitaskers for a reason. We’re wired to do it all and will continue to do so until the end of time. I don’t need to be a CEO billionaire earning more than my male counterparts or have a seat on the senate to know I’m making a difference.
