There’s a lot that happens between “we need help with this space” and the finished photo.
It starts with people. With listening to how you live, what isn’t working, what matters to you and sometimes what you didn’t know you needed.
From there, it’s a little bit of everything: presentations around the table, materials spread across any available surface as inspiration strikes, plans reviewed on site again and again, patterns worked out piece by piece, and plenty of conversations with the people who help bring it all to life.
If you’ve worked with me, you know I’m not really a sit behind a desk kind of designer. I want to see it, move it around, lay it out on the floor if I have to, and probably feed you somewhere along the way.
My background in hospitality taught me that the way a space feels matters just as much as the way it looks. I love beautiful things, but I’m far more interested in creating a home that feels like you. A home that welcomes people in, makes everyday life easier, and leaves room for the meals, messes, dogs, kids and memories happening there.
And yes, eventually we get to the pillows. 😉
Spaces. People. Possibility.
Turns out, that’s a pretty good description of what I get to do every day.
