It's impossible to visit Maine and not feel completely inspired.

We headed up for a client strategy session, more details on that project coming soon, but carved out time to take in the Land Preservation Trust associated with Acadia National Park while we were there. The light, the coastline, the quiet. It's the kind of place that fills you right back up.

Some things in a home are worth doing right the first time.

Not everything needs to be an investment- but the pieces you live with every day, the ones that set the tone for a whole room, the details that give a home its character? Those deserve real thought and real resources.

A well-chosen antique can anchor a room in a way that a full furniture package never will. Custom window treatments are often the last thing people budget for and the first thing that makes a space feel finished. Original hardwood floors, restored rather than replaced, carry a patina that simply cannot be replicated.

Summer on Martha's Vineyard has its own rhythm, and our home shifts right along with it.

It doesn't take a major overhaul. A fresh tablecloth in the dining room, lighter pillows, a vase of hydrangeas that we've been waiting all winter to bring inside. Small moves that add up to a space that just feels like summer.

The conservatory is our focus this year- a newer addition to the house that we're still making our own, and a space that already feels like it was made for this season.

And one of our favorite things about summer here? Lighting a fire for morning coffee and ending the day at the beach. That contrast is very Martha's Vineyard, and we love it.

Cape Cod style is one of those things that's easier to feel than to define.

It's not a single look — it's a sense of place. The palette pulled from beach grass and open water, natural materials that feel worn-in and welcoming, furniture that holds up to sandy feet and long summer evenings, and layers of objects that actually mean something to the people who live there.

After years of designing on the Cape and Islands, the same elements keep showing up — not because they're trendy, but because they belong here. And when a home's interior mirrors its surroundings, it just feels right.

New England has one of the most diverse and storied architectural landscapes in the country- and if you’ve ever driven through a historic town and felt that pull, you know exactly what we mean.

From the clean symmetry of a Georgian Colonial to the steeply pitched roofline of a Saltbox, the bold columns of a Greek Revival to the cozy charm of a Cape Cod- every style tells a chapter of this region’s history. And when you start to learn the language of these homes, you can’t unsee it.

This is the kind of architecture that never goes out of style because it was never chasing a trend to begin with. It was built with intention, craftsmanship, and materials meant to last generations.
