Behind the Scenes Wednesday — and if you're picturing us in the kitchen pouring candles right now, we appreciate the faith, but the honest answer is: we are on the couch. 😄🛋️

We got home from three days at the Townsend Fall Fest — one of the most incredible weekends we've ever had — and the car is unpacked, the jars are put away, and we are firmly in recovery mode. The candles can wait until at least Thursday. Maybe Friday. 🕯️💛

Since we had some amazing new faces stop by our page this week — hi, welcome, we're so glad you're here! 👋 — we thought today was the perfect day to properly introduce ourselves.
We're Rustic Roots LLC — a small-batch soy candle company handcrafted right here in Montana. 🏔️🌿

Here's who we are in a nutshell:
🕯️ Every candle we make is hand-poured in small batches using 100% soy wax and pure essential oils — no shortcuts, no factory, just us and our kitchen.
🏔️ We've called Montana home for several generations. Every scent in our lineup is inspired by the land, the seasons, and the feelings of Big Sky Country — from the crackling warmth of a Yaak Campfire to the sweet wildness of our brand new Montana Huckleberry.
👩 Our founder Chelsea started Rustic Roots in 2020 because she believed candles should make you FEEL something — not just smell good. That belief is still behind every single pour we make.
🙌 Our Logistics Manager Derek keeps everything running behind the scenes — from packing and shipping orders to setting up and breaking down our booth at every show.
🐾 And our Shop Manager is Tillie. She takes quality control very seriously.

We make candles for the moments that matter — the cozy ones, the restorative ones, the ones that smell exactly like home. 💛

So whether you found us through a car show video, a friend's recommendation, or you've been here from the beginning — thank you. Truly. We're so glad you're here.

We're home. The cars are unpacked. The candles found their homes. And our hearts are so full. 🕯️💛What a weekend at the Townsend Fall Fest. Three days, hundreds of incredible people, two brand new scents that absolutely flew off the table, and more conversations about candles, moods, and Montana than we could have ever dreamed. Behind the Scenes Wednesday — and today we want to tell you something we don't talk about enough. 🕯️🌿Our family has called Montana home for several generations. We grew up here. We learned here. We fell in love with this land here — the way the mountains smell after rain, the way a campfire feels on a cool September night, the way a warm mug of chai on a cold morning can make everything feel okay again. 🏔️☕Every single scent we've ever poured at Rustic Roots started with a feeling, not a fragrance. It's Behind the Scenes Wednesday and fall is officially in the air — which means one of our favorite outdoor events of the entire year is right around the corner! 🍂🕯️✨We are SO excited to share (again) that Rustic Roots will be set up and ready for you at the Townsend Fall Fest — and if you've never been, this is the year to go! 🏔️🎉

Put on by the incredible Rotary Club of Townsend, this is truly Montana's premier fall festival. We're talking 10,000+ attendees, 100+ vendor booths, amazing live music from local and regional Montana bands, delicious food and drinks, a Saturday parade, and one of the largest car shows in the entire state on Sunday — with over 320 classic and custom cars last year alone! 🚗🎶And right in the middle of all that Montana magic, you'll find us — set up with our full lineup of hand-poured 100% soy candles, wax melts, car fresheners, and more. 🕯️🌿Fall is our favorite season to share Rustic Roots with the world — the scents, the cozy vibes, the Montana community gathered together — it just doesn't get better than this. 💛Come find us at Heritage Park, say hello, sniff all the candles, and take a little piece of Montana home with you.
