Today's Tour de Fleece project was all about prep! I turned a generous gift of alpaca fiber from a friend into a whole pile of rolags. Tomorrow... the spinning begins!

Better late than never! 😅 I missed posting the last couple of days, but I haven't stopped spinning. I spent that time finishing up these two skeins from earlier in the Tour, and I'm so happy to finally get them off the bobbins and into the finished pile.

I may have missed posting the last couple of days, but I definitely haven't stopped spinning!

This mystery braid from my stash finally became a finished skein, and I'm so happy with how it turned out. I have no idea what the fiber blend is, but I love the warm peach, coral, and golden tones that came through.

Sometimes the mystery projects end up being the most fun.

Now it's time to get back to the wheel!

Tour de Fleece Day 1

Working on this beautiful golden braid today and giving the Matchless some much-needed wheel time.

I don't reach for this wheel nearly as often as my Ashford Joy or EEW 6, but I'm hoping that changes this Tour. Sometimes it takes a little time to figure out what a wheel likes—and what it doesn't.

Today's fiber is Malabrigo Nube in Frank Ochre, a wonderfully soft merino that feels like sunshine in fiber form.

One bobbin down and plenty of fiber left to go. So far, so good!
