Color abounds in our greenhouses right now as spring begins. Not quite ready for planting, our pansies and violets are being carefully hardened off for the unpredictable Maine spring weather.

New orders are arriving daily! We have a wide selection of indoor tropical plants and also Easter lilies for the holiday.

Our pansies and violets are cruising right along. We have been starting to harden them off for the greatly anticipated planting season.

Although it's a wee bit soon for first plantings, here is a sneak peak at some of our early annual pansy and violet crop's growth.

Spring is almost here! Our team has been working hard planting and prepping our crops for the upcoming season. Today we observed the very first calibrachoa bloom amongst our hanger plantings. This photo is absolute proof that the snow will vanish soon to usher in the sunshine and flowers of spring!

Calibrachoa, commonly called "million bells," is a popular annual plant known for its prolific, small, petunia-like flowers that bloom all season in a wide variety of colors, making it ideal for hanging baskets, containers, and groundcovers. A low-maintenance plant that thrives in full sun, requires well-drainied soil, regular watering and monthly fertilization for best results. Unlike petunias, it generally does not require deadheading.

Our pansies are tough because they are planted early in our South Portland greenhouses. Pansy plugs are carefully placed into these 6 packs for early crops in the spring.
It may be cold outside, but our planting schedule is heating up as we head into the next few weeks!
