We love the Sewing Machine Exchange!

Starting in July and continuing to the end of August, the shop hours will be:
 
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday: Open 10am - 5pm
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: Closed
 
By closing on Wednesdays, this means that Wednesday Night Social events will be on pause, as will Quilt Club with Travis. We’ll let you know about the new schedule before September.
 
Tomorrow, 6/17, is the last Open Studio for awhile; if you’ve taken a class with us recently and have more work to do on your project, I hope you can come by between 5:30 and 8pm. The last Handicraft Club with Holly will be next Wednesday, 6/24, 5:30 to 8pm. The last Quilt Club before the break will be Friday, 6/26, 5:30 to 7pm.

The weather has been absolutely gorgeous lately. I know that most folks want to be outside, and crafting is not top of mind during this season. I’m right there with you! After a few years of running this shop, I’m coming to understand the ebbs and flows and seasonality of crafting.

I’m looking forward to having a bit more unscheduled time to remember that I’m a human being, and not just a busy business owner. I’ll be using some of this extra time to catch up on admin tasks and think more deeply about what the future of Past + Future will look like. I’m excited to come back this fall, bigger and better than ever!

The shop will be closed for Memorial Day weekend. I’m going camping! I need a break! I know y’all were out enjoying the sunshine last weekend because I was stuck inside the shop, mostly by myself. Now it’s my turn to have a little fun :)

Wed 5/20: open 10am - 8pm with open studio 5:30-8
Thu 5/21: open 10 - 5pm
Fri 5/22: open 10 - 5pm with quilt club 5:30-7

Anniversary Sale, Day 2!

1. We still have plenty of good stuff out in the hallway for fill-a-bag. Patterns, knitting needles, yarn, fabric, and some surprises 🌀
2. The books in the classroom are now 4 for $1, with a few free ones from mixed in. Don’t let Tucker working on machines in the corner scare you away, he’s very nice 🙂
3. Friday volunteers helped restock the quilting fabric! Lots to choose from!
4. The shelves are loaded with fully serviced, fully tested sewing machines. If you come grab one today, it’s 10% off!
5. Handmade historical American Girl Doll clothes. You have to see these in person to fully appreciate the craftswomanship that went into them 👒
6. BIG BUTTON RESTOCK! Including lots of fun ones donated by 
7. New item alert: lacy grab bags, full of all kinds of vintage frills.
8. Finally, in case you’ve ever thought that running a second hand craft store is glamorous — here’s the Volvo stuffed with stuff for the sale, bags that were stashed in our third floor apartment for the past month 🫠
