In China this week, Tom is sourcing stone for several upcoming projects. Here’s a little behind the scenes look at the process of stone selecting for an upcoming project in the Middle East. With thousands of slabs to choose from, selecting the perfect one can be challenging, but we always find the right fit. From Brazilian granite to Italian marble, these slab yards offer incredible options for any aesthetic. Tom has been traveling and sourcing stone like this since ’01, making it possible to see and select materials from around the world in one place saving weeks of searching across different countries. The last two videos give you a little insight into how many slab factories there are here!

Every project comes with a few “JFIO” moments and this one had it’s own. The design and the engineering is what’s important to us so a few tight squeezes, quick fixes, and creative calls later… the team just figured it out.

Back on site at IAH! ✈️

The GPI team is currently in the installation phase at International Shoppes, located right across from our completed Duty Free backlit feature — both positioned at the major intersection of the airport’s new expansion.

Custom backlit feature currently underway for a confidential project in Palm Beach, FL. 🏝️

Our installation includes custom welded aluminum framing designed to suspend a series of specialty acrylic panels in varying shapes and colors to form two separate illuminated ceiling features. Each section contains individually controlled light units that project through the acrylic,  allowing evenly balanced lighting, all masterfully controlled through our Infuse™ centralized lighting control system.

We’re proud to collaborate with incredible teams on this project — Gord and David at , the lighting and design experts at .curtis_lighting_design Jon-Carlos Marras, Liz McGreevy, and Ryan Curtis — along with Martyn Lawrence Bullard and his talented interior design team which includes himself, Daniela Schmetzer and Jeremy Bouck, and of course our partners at .architecture

Couldn’t ask for a better group to bring this feature to life — can’t wait to see the final result!💡

The Vintage Club🌴

For this project, our team delivered a full turnkey installation featuring a glass-backed natural stone bar wall that’s nothing short of stunning. Photos just don’t do it justice.

Last week, GPI Design was a proud sponsor for the Youth Challenge’s golf outing at Avon Oaks Country Club. Youth Challenge is an organization that offers sports, recreation, and life-skills programs for young people with physical disabilities—supported by young teens who volunteer to help, mentor, and assist in every activity. GPI did our Drone Drop (used to be a putting contest), and it raised great money—something we’re really proud of! Glad we got to be apart of it and show our support. Thanks to everyone who came out. Can’t wait to do it again next year! 🏌️‍♂️🏌️‍♂️
