Over the years some of my favorite moments in clay have happened outside of making. They’ve transpired around dinner tables, after firing kilns, walking our beaches, front porches… they’ve happened in conversations with friends who’ve dedicated their lives to making, teaching, experimenting, and building community through clay. ❤️

As part of of our annual Summer Camp celebration we’re bringing together five nationally recognized ceramic artists - Dick Lehman, John Britt, Heidi Fahrenbacher, Justin Rothshank, and Delores Fortuna for a special evening of conversation moderated by folklorist Meredith McGriff. Through stories of friendship, mentorship, collaboration, and decades of shared experiences in creating successful ceramic practices, our panelists will reflect on the relationships and environments that have supported their work and helped shape their artistic journeys. Together, we’ll explore what becomes possible when artists invest in one another, support their communities, and commit to the long arc of a creative life. ❤️👌✨

We’re hosting the panel discussion at the Historic Dunes Pavilion located within the Indiana Dunes State Park overlooking the shores of Lake Michigan. 🌊 ✨

A beautiful buffet dinner is included with a cash bar, there will be a Q+A session after the talk, and plenty of time to chat with the artists and mingle afterwards while we all enjoy live acoustic music and watch the sunset. 🌅

*Travel Tip: The South Shore Trains & More Line is located within walking distance, and is connected to the State Park by sidewalk. There is even a spot on the train to keep your bikes, if you’d like to ride. 🙂

✨ We’re on tour… The Michiana Spring Clay Tour! ✨

This Saturday (Memorial Day weekend) will mark the second annual Michiana Spring Clay Tour. This one-day event will showcase many ceramic artists across Northern Indiana, and this is your chance to meet your local studio potters and see where they make their magic! ✨

This year NWI is represented through the Northern Indiana Clay Alliance (NICA) with 3 studios having their doors open! 💃✨ We hope to work with NICA in continuing to grow this number, and support studio potters here in the 219! This year you can visit Jim and Linda Winegar in LaPorte , Anthony Majewski in Chesterton , and lastly, Eric and I will be here at Beale Pottery in Westville. Beyond our area, there are many beautiful studios and talented potters to the East of us in Elkhart County that will have their doors open as well. ❤️✨

✨💕🌸 Happy Mother’s Day! 🌸💕✨

✨💕🌸 Mother’s Day! 🌸💕✨ We will be open all weekend! Here’s what you should know:

1. Potted planters in a variety of colors will be a special sale price of $50 on Saturday and Sunday. Could there be a more perfect gift for mom? 🌸🤌✨

2. Mother Nature watered our plants last night, and strategically placed us at the end of the rainbow - who are we to argue with the laws of nature? 🤷‍♀️🌈 ✨

3. We have some really beautiful flowers right now! Here are some flats of geraniums - reds, pink burst, orange… so good. 🌸🤌✨

4. Our retail display inside the studio is fully stocked, and ready to shop! This gorgeous planter though... 🫠❤️ 🪴 ✨

5. Begonias. I am partial to the peachy yellows, and those of the scarlet varieties… 💃✨

6. A few strawberry items in the shop! I adore this oil cruet. Super soft satin finish with a touch of pink, and a little peek of crystals at the bottom edge. Total perfection. 🍓 🤌✨

7. Who is obsessed with coneflowers? I love the obscure - these are a double scoop strawberry. 👀 I also brought back the Vintage Lime, and have a few others. 🌸✨

8. The lupine is starting to show color here in the Dunes. When it reaches peek, it feels like magic to walk the trails in certain places. We brought back a whole slew of lupine mugs just for the moms this year. 🪻✨

9. Perennial Lavender in stock - 2 varieties in gallon size, and some in pints. It smells soooo good. 😊

10. More crystals! These vases are the same glaze. One went in an acid bath, and into the reduction. That process turned the copper pink! It’s wildly beautiful. 😍

11. Tickseed! I still have some left and these babes are thriving! 🌼

12. Butterfly lovers - we have planters and mugs! 🦋

13. Hanging baskets! 10% off all hanging baskets with any pottery purchase. Come get em! 🤌💕

14. Our Mother’s Day Ceramic Flower Workshop is THIS Saturday with sessions in the morning and evening. We’re almost full, but there is still some availability. Head to the website to get signed up. 💕

✨💕🌸 Ope! 🌸💕✨ I forgot to mention that we are INDEED having an online stock drop for Mother’s Day. This week brought some unanticipated happenings (the wind took our flower tent! 👀), but we are recovered. 🙌

Eric and I pulled some special stock for those of you that are not local. I have started taking pictures, and writing the newsletter, and will have it ready soonish - watch those inboxes for your code! 💕

🎄Stop by and shop the studio! 🎄✨ We have just finished stocking the shelves for the last time before the holiday, and our doors are open for shopping. Come scoop up a sweet gift for that special someone… even if that someone is you - treat yoself! ❤️✨ Our studio is located at 1038 N 550 E in Westville, IN. We’re centrally located between Valpo, LaPorte, Chesterton, Michigan City. You can find us here today through the 23rd from 10am - 7pm. 🎄❤️

I’ve been a little quiet about our ornaments this year, but they deserve spotlight time! I have created two styles - first up is a sweet little humming bird hand painted with 22k gold details. Watching humming birds in the summertime with my grandmother from her kitchen window is such a fond memory for me, and I’ve really enjoyed making these sweet pieces. I love the way the gold shines with the lights on the tree. ✨ I also painted some little floral guitars to celebrate our love of good music. Music is such a big part of the vibe around here, and it just made sense. Each of these pieces are signed “Beale the Love” on the back side. 🎶 ❤️✨

We have plenty of Eric’s beautiful crystalline work stocked on the shelves, along with a handful of my hand painted work. Little plates, luminaries, pie dishes, mugs, candles, tumblers… ✨

I am also working on getting some of these items listed online - it’s been a really busy season! 😅 I hope to have remaining stock available on the site by Saturday afternoon. ❤️
