By background, I have been a Change Management and IT Manager, Instructional Designer, and Technical Writer. The common thread in my career has been designing customer experiences that support learning and using systems to become more productive in work roles. The same could be said of interior decorating. How am I using the room I want to decorate? How can I access high use items while making my

room look great? How can I pick a style and items that are homey to me and welcoming to my guests? Over the years, I've thoroughly enjoyed designing and decorating spaces and making them home. I've been asked by friends and family to help them and nothing brings me greater joy! I'm starting this decorating consulting business to help others use existing and new items to put the FUN and FUNC in FUNCtional in their spaces.

Our clients have a beautiful dark wood furniture set. It had rich tones we could infuse into a cozy, earthy retreat at their new home. When updating your bedroom, make sure to contrast dark woods with high-contrast textiles and/or wall paint to create a light and bright backdrop.

We love the use of color on the custom furniture in our client’s office. When considering colorful furniture for a space, use the 60/30/10 Rule. Set up your room with 60% of a neutral color (walls), 30% for your secondary color (the desk, credenza, etc), and 10% for accent colors (mousepad, lamp, chairs).

Sweet dreams are made of mixing old and new. Our client’s had an heirloom bedroom set that needed a modern twist in their new home. Yellow woods (like oak, pine, and fir) mix best with cooler neutrals and complimentary colors like soft blues, green grays, and crisp whites. I found the sweetest bed throw .living for a sweet mixed pattern.
