The tight weave of these fair trade hand towels makes them absorbent, soft, and remarkably lightweight. Maybe the Midwest can’t make up its mind if spring is here or not, but our spring collection is!

I’m absolutely in love with the new pillow covers that have vintage wallpaper designs. There are also new fan favorite prints from the wonderful , art blocks for displaying prints or photos, crib sheets, and a new kitchen and dining set of oversized hand towels and table runners.

We’re back! I’m so grateful to have had the last few months to spend on maternity leave, but also excited to be starting up again! Since we’ve been on break for awhile I wanted to take this opportunity to re-introduce ourselves.

Kay VK Design is a home decor shop and interior design studio. All of our products are ethically sourced and come from women owned companies. The companies we source from also give back to other charities and foundations, and their products are made by women around the world. We’re also proud supporters of Vite Transformate, an anti-human trafficking organization in Bologna, Italy.

My name is Kiersten VanKerkhoff and I’m a wife to Blake, Mama to Charlie, and an interior designer who loves designing family friendly spaces that are influenced by who you are, and that will be filled with years of memories in the making.

Happy Thanksgiving from Kay VK Design to you and yours!

We have so much to be thankful for this year. Between opening Kay VK Design and having a baby on the way, this year has been more challenging than any others before! But what better gifts are there?

Opening my own interior design shop/studio with a service component has been my dream since I was 16, and it was a dream that evolved over the years. This was solidified when I finished my semester abroad in Italy and knew that I wanted to support Vite Transformate, and that I was going to use interior design to do it. (There’s a much longer story here that I’d love to share with anyone interested!)

So in mid 2021, Blake and I decided it was time to take the leap - which was terrifying and liberating all at once! Having this work-from-home job also tied into being able to stay home with our future kids, and still keep my passion for design going. So now after year 1 of the business being open (almost), the fact that we’re expecting our first in just a few weeks feels like a culmination of what we’ve been working towards.

We’re thankful for YOU! All our supporters and customers. Your orders, large and small, help keep our little dream going. Every post you share, every tag, every like - it all makes a difference, and we appreciate every single one.
